Old time TV sets were fully analogue.
There is no 'tolarance' for frequencies, everything that goes through the capacitors ends up on the screen.
As long as all the signals are coherent in relation to each other (the electron beam jumps to the next line at the end of the line and not in between) a TV will render a screen or a sequence of screens just fine in a HUGE soectrum of frequencies.

I had a NEC myltisynch 3D and an Arcon Archimedes, we run that combo in any thinkable weird screen set up the NEC could handle.

What you said about emulators might be true, but is immaterial.

He was found out because they looked at the code and found it mathematically impossible for the code to generate that time.

Many other techniques are used to find cheaters. Some of them double-down and have everything removed from the leaderboards as not only being cheats, but haven't learned to stop lying. Others have confessed, and recreated some of their legitimate scores.

They spent a lot of time covering up this one and similar submissions from this player. They took a bad PR hit when a video about it made the trending list last week.

Well personally we didnt let our kids watch videos till they were well into age 2. However i also struggle with this problem.

I put some nice videos on for him and what ends up happening is that stupid google ends up picking "the axel show" which is just crappy hotwheels product placement garbage, or worse blippy.. Youtube seems to offer no way to outright ban a channel (maybe you have to be logged in), so i am eager to hear other peoples responses to your question here as i have a similar problem.

I knew i had to do something when i found him one day segmenting his cars into hotwheels and non hotwheels cars (good and bad). His first instance of brand recognition and bias. 100% caused by axel show and some other product ones...

The one where stuff becomes sufficiently complicated and (insert long and bamboozling set of random examples of complicated systems and a grab bag of barely coherent ideas) and presto consciousness happens for some reason, apparently (c/f strange loops etc)?

This one. I don't know why you would dismiss this particular theory, since its by far the most well-supported of the bunch (certainly more well supported than TFA's theory of "insert magic and call it a day.")

Now you may not like the theory as it tends to imply that humans are just a pile of random chance and that everything we do is ultimately meaningless (whereas if you have a religion-type soul of some variety, the things you do in life would presumably carry on past your death in some manner.) But its hard to dismiss it when exactly that principle underlies things like evolution and chaos theory. And we're already starting to see some pretty impressive AIs at a computing level that's still a few orders of magnitude less than what our brains are capable of. The most telling AIs in my opinion aren't things like Deep Blue or Alexa.. the most telling ones are those that can do things like emulate the behavior of small insects like ants. There was one I heard about recently where they literally mapped some a worm's neurons into an AI system -- getting close to the scifi "brain download" concept (at least in theory -- that whole orders of magnitude of power bit is still a pretty significant hurdle before we try to do that for humans!)

So the question becomes: Assuming tech improves and we eventually get the ability to map billions of neurons instead of just hundreds, and then map a human brain onto those digital neurons.. will that AI be considered conscious or not? Its a serious question. My suspicion is "yes," though with some caveats (primarily, the question of whether digital emulation can ever replicate our analog brains in sufficient detail to "work" as we would expect.)

No, not really. If he'd fled the country instead of to the embassy. (which in many respects is the same thing), then he'd simply be beyond the reach of arrest unless and until he came back. It is a little known fact that the Doomsday Clock is over 150 years old, and for many years was kept by the Masons and existed in secret at an undisclosed Lodge. Well, I think any natural resource extraction on Mars would be - the output would be for Mars. It definitely wouldn't make sense to transport Mars stuff 200 million miles back to Earth. Honestly, if you had like crack-cocaine on Mars, in like prepackaged pallets, it still wouldn't make sense to transport it back here. It'll be good times for the Martians, but not back here. Resources would be for a colony to use.
