Sorry but I'm not going to watch two and a half hours of bullshit trying to prove something true that I know to be false. It might as well be two and a half hours of "leprechauns are real!"

All in all, it's about faith to some extent,
All in all it's about suspending your disbelief to the level of a kindergartner.
Your claim of "faith" is the worst possible way to try and convince any thinking person of your position, especially when your position includes fantastical claims cobbled together 20 centuries ago by ignorant, desert-dwelling sheep herders, most of whom lived their entire lives within about 10 miles of the place they'd been born.

but there is considerable evidence that the Bible is God's Word...
If the bible is god's word, why are there so many silly mistakes in it? Why are there so many blatant contradictions in it? And while we're on the subject, which of the 600 or so versions of the bible are we talking about, anyway?

You think...
What about asking JP Morgan, a huge user of Smalltalk, all over the world, have to say about it:
-
Will it include WP and NYT?
The "Russia hacked the U.S. election" headline, in contrast with "some Russians hacked the DNC and we don't know who leaked to Wikileaks", is the biggest case of fake news out there and almost no one is talking about it. Because of this type of deceitful headline half of Clinton's voters believe that the Russian government hacked the vote tallies, even tough there is no indication of that and no officials are actually claiming.

I read the novel in grade school as an assignment, then the whole class got to watch the movie as well. There is no better way to traumatize kids than the mass-death scene in the warren. I won't forget that ever https://www.youtube.com/user/T...

Re:NYT is Fake News
> Yep, and now that story contains a correction [washingtonpost.com] at the top of the page. That's what legitimate news sites do when they make factual errors. Fake news sites don't issue corrections, because their entire purpose is to make up facts.
That's great, but people don't check back on stories after they've read them. It's telling that they rush the story first and retract only when called on. The canonical "fake news" sites are Macedonian clickbait. It's not clear that anyone ever read or believed them, it's just taken as an article of faith that a lot of people clicked this, therefore they must believe it's true. If we apply the same logic to tabloids, apparently most of the country has long believed in Bat Boy.
> Actually, your timeline is a bit messed up. What actually happened was that New York Magazine reported in September [nymag.com] that "Kelly had even begun to speculate, according to one Fox source, that Trump might have been responsible for her getting violently ill before the debate last summer. Could he have paid someone to slip something into her coffee that morning in Cleveland? she wondered to colleagues." This was NOT ignored in the media, but rather spread in September as a big rumor, which Kelly did NOT address or debunk at that time.
It's not up to Megan Kelly to address or debunk this! This is what fact checkers were for (past tense because it seems like they're not using them any more...). Running a ridiculous rumor like that without contacting the alleged source is simply inexcusable for a supposedly reputable news agency.
The same goes for the CNN clip saying it's "illegal" to possess stolen documents so only the media can read Wikileaks. Some under-appreciated context here is that CNN's Chris Cuomo is a licensed attorney. So he has no excuse for not knowing how wrong that is.
Moving on to the point, here's the thing: you're trying to restrict what people can say on Facebook. If they can't say things on Facebook, they'll change platforms. You can't stop people from saying what they want and trying to is ignorant censorship by the German government.

And of course, it delivers malware that because you're trusted to the recipient, they'll infect their PC with, thus introducing a new vector in addition to the compromised ad servers and malware delivered via email...
The reason there is a malware/ransomware epidemic is because it runs on stupidity and there is an abundance of it on the internet. It's hard to cure because of the Dunning Kruger effect.

Re:Only in America...
As for the heating: it's hard enough to melt things like zinc with sunlight. Hot enough to melt basalt with just sunlight? On Mars? Now that's a very tall order. I don't think so.
There is a nice youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Showing how to use a Fresnel lens to have a 3D printer using sand.
There are a few more/better videos but I could not find them quickly.
it'd be much simpler/cheaper/more reliable just to import your fiber from Earth, at least while one is just getting a colony established.
Really? I mean, we are talking about tons, hundreds of tons of "building material" ... I can't imagine it is cheaper to transport tons of "stone" when you simply can send basic "builders". Probably even stuff like Fresnel lenses can be made on Mars easy if one knows where to look for "sand".Searching for "do it yourself basalt fibres" I stumbled over this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Would also be an idea for a Mars base

Re: Fairy Tales
Here's the full playlist... https://www.youtube.com/playli... for his "Learn the Bible in 24 hours" series since KHouse's YT channel only has his first 12 sessions listed. I'd recommend checking out sessions 1, 13, 14, and 24 to get a taste of his style and approach and then dig into the rest of them if you want to see just how much there is that most people don't know about in the Bible.

Re: Fairy Tales
If you'd honestly like answers to these and many more questions I highly recommend the work of Chuck Missler and Koinonia House... https://www.youtube.com/playli... I've been studying the Bible for ~30 years and Dr. Missler's approach and insight are a real blessing for me. Most of us technically minded types should find his discussions enlightening. He comes from an old school info-tech background and some of his "proofs" are based on statistical analysis of the original texts themselves. Really worth the time if you're curious about why that old book holds so much fascination for so many of us...

Re:Tit for tat
This shit got +5? That is Slashdot's lowest. Russia didn't destroy Iraq, or plan and give tactical, military and financial support for the destruction of Libya and Syria. The USA did.
And if people have doubts on Libya and Syria, remember the we came, we saw, he died interview, the DIA 2012 report and the Syria insight stolen memo.
Because people are lazy I'll quote, yet again, from the memo:they said without saying that SOF teams (presumably from US, UK, France, Jordan, Turkey) are already on the ground focused on recce missions and training opposition forces. One Air Force intel guy (US) said very carefully that there isn't much of a Free Syrian Army to train right now anyway
So there were no rebels to train, but they were there and training them anyway.
the idea 'hypothetically' is to commit guerrilla attacks, assassination campaigns, try to break the back of the Alawite forces, elicit collapse from within
They dont believe air intervention would happen unless there was enough media attention on a massacre, like the Ghadafi move against Benghazi. They think the US would have a high tolerance for killings as long as it doesn't reach that very public stage.

Re:Then it's a good thing
It's not a joke, it's the sad reality. If you're not willing to believe the claims in Bloody Harvest, you can use the officially presented numbers to see that they don't add up and that they are either (a) death-row prisoners organs are harvested without their consent, (b) extra unreported prisoners are being killed for organs, or (c) most likely both.
Falun Gong is a bit culty but it's more like Scientology than something like Jonestown. Even if it's a bit weird or nuts, that's not a reason to imprison devotees and most certainly not a reason to kill them for their organs. I think many of the people objecting to the claims of organ harvesting get too caught up in opposing what they see as a cult, and miss the fact that the "enemy of your enemy" is usually not your friend.

Re:I wish
It's estimated that up to 45% of the jobs that people in the US currently do today are up for automation in the next couple of decades. That's 45% of the workforce, and if you're one of the those dislocated you're not going to just be able to switch to another field, because people there have also been dislocated and they're also looking for work.
If you took a list of jobs, ranked by the number of people who do each one, you'll have to go all of the way down to number 33 on the list to find a new job that didn't exist 100 years ago: computer programmer.
Sure, there have been technological advancements and "new" jobs, but most "new" jobs aren't new at all, because by and large the general categories have remained the same: driver, delivery man, manager, secretary, assembly line worker. It's just today that the assembly line worker snaps together circuit boards and screens as opposed to stamping car parts or sewing together buggy whips.
The cabby of today was the carriage driver of yesterday, and, if Uber has it's way, replaced by the self-driving car of tomorrow. In fact, Uber has publicly stated that it's looking to replace all of the cab drivers in NY (51,000) with autonomous vehicles in the next decade.
Major trucking companies are looking to replace their biggest expense (drivers) with autonomous trucks (trials are running... today). There go 3.5 million truck drivers.
And if all of those autonomous vehicles hit their safety numbers, then accidents decline dramatically. That's fewer mechanics and body shop workers, fewer insurance claims adjusters, fewer ambulance and emergency room workers and staff, fewer police needed for speed traps, fewer cooks and truck stop workers, and so on, in every town and city across the US.
Pretty soon you have massive dislocations as entire local industries collapse and -- even worse -- as the industries that depended upon the incomes of those workers collapse, which widens the circle even further. (Can't run a restaurant serving food to people who can't pay for it.)
All told, here in the US we're looking at employment disruptions measured in the tens of millions, and all of them occurring within the next decade.
The Great Depression had an unemployment rate of 25%. What happens when that number hits 45%?
I'd advise that everyone watch the following video, Humans Need Not Apply

Re:Bigoted much?
My approach is similar to this video, just replacing "pay me" with "prove it" in response to the allegations. I can't believe how many times I've heard excuses for why it's okay for a lame duck to screw diplomacy on the way out over evidence they won't give us (because it doesn't exist).

Re:Why should anyone trust the report?
I too am appalled at how many people don't take Russian interference seriously. The KGB spent a half century working to undermine the democratic institutions of the free West, and in many cases they succeeded spectacularly. When the Berlin wall fell and the USSR dissolved, all of the disinformation, subterfuge, misdirection, and methods of internal destruction were left in place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?... Did the current Russian government actively work to influence the US election? Maybe, maybe not, but I'm skeptical of the claim. Why would they work to get Hillary defeated when they would have had so much material with which to blackmail her? But former Russian (USSR) governments definitely acted to undermine future US governments, and we're still suffering the effects of those efforts today. Take the time to watch the video and listen to the efforts and plans the KGB implemented against the West, and how successful they were.
-
Re:Why should anyone trust the report?
> the idea that "the Rooskies" might have interfered with a U.S. election would not be so casually dismissed by the party of Reagan.

Re:Just the same old Republican strategy
Here's a video on the subject of 1970s "global cooling" for you:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Studies of the scientific literature in the 1970s reveal 7 papers suggesting global cooling (but not an ice age). They also found 44 papers suggesting global warming.
If you don't watch the video, then it proves that you are deliberately remaining ignorant on the subject. And if you're going to remain deliberately ignorant on the subject, then you should stop talking about it.
One you read what the facts really are, you realize just how much climate deniers are lying about the facts. Why would they do that? Because the right-wing media hates democrats, and the oil companies are giving them a global warming conspiracy story to legitimize their hatred. Why would oil companies do that? Because there's trillions of dollars of oil reserves still in the ground, and if people keep pumping it, they're going to be very, very rich - like trillions of dollars rich. -

Supposedly there is an interview where Kitty says she started on her 18th birthday, I have not seen that. Here is a normal, dressed look at Kitty:

There is also the huge issue of Human Trafficking, where the women are basically slaves and may also be under age...I didn't claim that no performers started when they were 18, but did either of them start filming the day they turned 18 and claim that they had just turned 18? I'll admit to not being familiar enough with either of them to know the answer, but I looked at Kitty's filmography and none of them are called "Barely legal Kitty's 18th birthday!"
But I admire your knowledge of porn and you had not one, but two 18 year old performers in mind!
