Re:Analysis of the videos
Another wannabe construction expert... even when no longer in "static equilibrium" a building is still composed of steel and concrete girders, trusses, beams, joists, columns, etc. all tied together with connections designed to be stronger than the materials being joined. Definitely not "smoke". Once the top of the first tower to fall tilted over the side of the tower there is no explanation for it's disintegration while falling other than explosives/demolitions. Building 7's collapse defies physics outside demolitions being placed inside.
Explain this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?... and this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?... and my favorite question is this... Why the hell would Atta carry with him to the airport luggage containing all the items needed to confirm the official story when he should have only reasonably expected it all to be destroyed in the coming collision? How convenient that his bag didn't make the transfer at Boston and was there to confirm the official story.... Get real people... every day innocent people are being killed as a result of this lie. What part are YOU playing in this criminal tragedy? -

Re:Analysis of the videos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?... at about 8:30 into this video Mr.Gage touches on the elevator renovation that would have provided cover for setting of demolitions.
I would also contend that intuition is not meaningless. Even a layman can often observe a process and make reasonable conclusions about that process. Rather, I would caution any observer to beware of a government who tells you "Don't believe your lying eyes, trust us instead." -
Re:Analysis of the videos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?... The outer walls were NOT the structure. The outer walls supported 30-40% of the building. The central core supported 60-70% of the weight. Please stop spreading misinformation. The 9/11 psyop is being used to this day to kill innocent people and enslave the weak-minded. You're part of the problem.

Re:backing Hillary?
You do know how the political system works in the US don't you. maybe at least just a little. The President is the administrator of government based upon the rules and regulations provided by the Congress and Senate. They can turn the President into an empty suit figure head in one sitting. The only reason US main stream media crap on so much about the president is because it is a magic trick for gumbies, you know look at this had doing nothing whilst the other hand reaches around for your wallet. In this case, pay attention to the Presidential election whilst ignoring the Congress and Senate where the real power resides.
I still do not get why so many Americans swallow the crap and bullshit presidential candidates spread about what they will and will not do. When they have absolutely no control over those policies as they are all controlled by laws written and approved by the congress and senate. The only real power the president has is veto and that is it. All other powers are temporary and provided by the congress and senate until such time as they choose to repeal those powers.
They are just playing you as fools. Want to see real power, look at the attack on Donald Trump by war industry owned main stream media when Trump threatened to cut funding from NATO, see him back down and promise to spend more on war and see the attack by main stream media slow right down. The US is being completed fucked by war for profit and the public seems incapable of bringing it to an end. Simply far to many resources wasted on war games (to many US politicians enjoy killing https://www.youtube.com/watch?... way too much, it is a real sickness) and not enough invested in infrastructure and services.

A three years old 47 minutes YouTube video showing "The Real Story: Star Trek (Full Episode)" -- "Meet Star Trek's producers, the first Trekkies, and Mr. Spock himself to discover the true story of Star Trek's history and how its vision of the future has influenced today's technology..."

Re:political motive vs. profit motive
If all you want to do is make big profits, by definition you do not want to limit those profits by declining sales to politically unpopular groups.
Rolling out expensive infrastructure to customers that can not afford to pay for the service that funds the infrastructure is NOT the path to "Big Profits" - corporations decide where to roll out infrastructure by the profit potential, not political affiliation.

That second one really got exactly what I always loved about Spock just perfect: the way he'd fly into a rage and then hold his enemies down and punch them in the face over and over again, almost killing them with his bare hands.

That's the audio of her laughing about getting a child molester off. The tapes were buried and the media refuses to play them. Snopes still calls it "false" even though we have the audio now.
It's not disputed that she attacked the women who accused her husband of rape and sexual assault.
The current FBI investigation turned up the fact that she mishandled classified information and they said flat out anyone else would be prosecuted.
So yes, she is being protected by the media and friends.
She's a walking dead politician.
At least Nixon had the integrity to resign.

Re:Barely mentioned anywhere...
For those of us that get our entertainment over the air, as in the original Star Trek, there was a 6Hr tribute that repeated 4 times on the DECADES channel. It aired Sept 8, 2016. I haven't looked at my DVR recording, but there were quotes indicating that some of the material was from the 40th anniversary and a smattering of newer stuff.
There was also a segment celebrating the 50th Anniversary on CBS SUNDAY Morning. Yeah, I know, CBS Sunday Morning?! But where do you expect us greybeards that saw TOS when it originally aired to hang out?
Cable/Streaming is not all!

I am so proud
As a member of the human race, I am so proud that centuries of technological and culinary progress has brought us to this. What a lovely day! I can't think of anything more useful for drone (or burrito) technology. All praise to our glorious overlords!
(perhaps the sarcasm was a little thick. The chip in my skull must be getting some crosstalk from North Korean propaganda - they've got that turned to full blast today.) -

I think the name was Gorn. The dialog was pure Shakespeare. But I nominate the boulder as best supporting actor.

Re:Good plot hooks
Or a power loss causing the ring of floating objects in orbit to plummet. After the idiotic body surfing from one ship to another.
And then there was the giant wrestling thing with the ships core - which Galaxy Quest Firmly slapped down years earlier because the whole notion was stupid.
My favourite from Galaxy quest was the chompers. After beaming onboard the Enterprise, Scotty is inside the coolant tube heading for the spinning blades of death.
As the review "Everything Wrong With Star Trek" points out, [the spinning blade contraption] is just as useless and stupid as the chompers in Galaxy quest, except *this* star trek movie isn't a parody.

Or as William Shattner just had to say:
I'd just like to say... GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show! I mean, look at you, look at the way you're dressed! You've turned an enjoyable little job, that I did as a lark for a few years, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME!
I mean, how old are you people? What have you done with yourselves?
You, you must be almost 30... have you ever kissed a girl?I didn't think so! There's a whole world out there! When I was your age, I didn't watch television! I LIVED! So... move out of your parent's basements! And get your own apartments and GROW THE HELL UP! I mean, it's just a TV show dammit, IT'S JUST A TV SHOW!

Re:Reminds me of Tribalwar's Goatse incident.
Back in the early 2000's, Tribalwar.com, another gamer cesspool of the internet, had a picture posted on the site linked by CNN.com on their front page.
Middle of the day, tribalwar was completly unavailable because their server was overloaded from all the traffic. As in the picture on CNN's front page was loaded directly from their servers.
The forum admin called and called and e-mailed asking them to please stop. This complaining all fell on deaf ears.
So, he switched out the picture with goatse (for those of you not in the know, it's a picture of a guy holding his butthole open).
Several million people saw Goatse in all it's glory, right there on CNN's front page as their feature article, over the course of the next several hours.
Then, like magic, the issue was fixed.
We had a by far better way of settling these things in the old days.

Hak5.org (blocked from work, so no direct link) sells the Rubber Ducky and the Turtle (the actual device used in the attack). Rob (aka Mubix -- the guy documenting the hack) does a fair bit with Darren Kitchen, the main guy behind Hak5.
Also, Darren and Shannon (the co-hosts of Hak5) consulted on Mr. Robot.

Re:Courage vs Ego
Apple is rather unique in that people forget their failures while remembering their successes, or even incorrectly attribute other people's innovations to Apple. For other companies, it's usually the other way around. That's why people joked that Jobs projected a Reality Distortion Field.

The MS EULAs change but the outcome is the same
Microsoft's EULAs and tactics become more draconian over time:
Here is a Microsoft spokesman talking about the Windows 98 EULA (1:45).
Here is a quote from the XP EULA:
"IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE PRODUCT; YOU MAY RETURN IT TO YOUR PLACE OF PURCHASE FOR A FULL REFUND."
Here is a quote from the Vista EULA:
"If you do not accept them, do not use the software. Instead, return it to the retailer for a refund or credit. If you cannot obtain a refund there, contact Microsoft or the Microsoft affiliate serving your country for information about Microsoft’s refund policies."
The Windows 10 EULA appears to state that you may return the entire computer at the manufacturers discretion for potentially no refund (note the words "if any" in the quote).
Here is a quote from the Frontpage 2002 EULA that forbade the user from creating a web page disparaging Microsoft or its products:
"You may not use the Software in connection with any site that disparages Microsoft, MSN, MSNBC, Expedia, or their products or services, infringe any intellectual property or other rights of these parties..."
On the manufacturer side, Microsoft used to demand that they sell either all computers with Windows or none with Windows. This was modified to paying Microsoft for each computer sold, whether or not a copy of Windows was included. Hence the Antitrust monopoly convictions. Here is an entry from the United States Federal Register Vol 67 No 86:
"Second, it is equally well settled that an antitrust remedy should be tailored to fit the conduct that has been found illegal. Here, the RPFJ carefully addresses each of the types of conduct that the Court of Appeals found illegal. It regulates the agreements that Microsoft can enter into and prevents Microsoft from retaliating against software or hardware distributors. The RPFJ also gives both computer manufacturers and consumers more choices in configuring their computers, and specifically enables them to turn off any Microsoft middleware and replace it with the middleware of their choice."
Today most consumers still do not read EULAs, do not realize that they have a choice, and never install or reinstall their operating systems. Manufacturers were given a choice by the courts, but were reigned in by the MANUFACTURER Recommends Microsoft OPERATINGSSTEM campaign.
We are right where we started.

Re: horseshit
It's not advertised as waterproof any more, but as has been widely demonstrated, it's still waterproof. (Yes, that's the Z5 Compact, but numerous videos out there show the Z5 being similar dunked.) They just don't want to pay to repair phones which were abused (immersed with a flap not properly closed, immersed deeper or longer than stated, immersed in non-fresh water, etc.) And sorry, but if you know anything about anything, you know why it matters whether you're immersing it in fresh, clean water or in water tainted by salt and other chemicals. And sorry, but I don't believe for one second that your phone misbehaved merely from rain (unless you simply didn't dry the touch-screen before trying to use it, that is.)
-
A great video that backs up your assertion

Single purpose? Single intended purpose maybe, yet we've seen it also be usable for everything from credit card readers, IR blasters to 'ghost' detectors... and that aside from the eventual support for volume & track control.

Re: horseshit
Because most of the idiots in the press (including popular online review sites) are enamored with Apple, and their reviews constantly criticize everything any other manufacturers do differently. Thanks to them we've gotten non-replaceable batteries, briefly lost the microSD slot, glass backs, and "premium" metal bodies which dent on impact instead of superior plastic which simply bounces back into shape. All so they can have sleek and shiny devices that feel good in their hands, instead of functional devices that are actually more durable despite how they feel.

Re:Feels a bit ... too much
Can't forget Audrey Hepburn appearing in a candy commercial, decades after her death.
And remember when those Matrix-movies-that-shall-not-be-named had hundreds of Agent Smiths? The technology they used to scan Hugo Weaving and replicate him digitally was already being billed at that time as a way to bring dead actors back, or else bring back younger versions of actors who've aged significantly...which is exactly what we saw in one of the newer Terminator movies (whatever the Christian Bale one was called), when a digitally created, young Ah-nold suddenly showed up to reprise the role.
Captain America: Civil War even got in on the action, with a Robert Downey Jr. who was several decades younger in a flashback scene. When he was on the talk show circuit to market the film, he mentioned how weird it was to see himself like that, but I suspect we'll only be seeing more of it, since if there's one thing Hollywood likes to do, it's to rehash things they know we liked the first time around.
