It's because of Pokemon and other cartoons where stuff 'evolves' in a matter of minutes to a better version. The term 'evolution' has been popularized to become this magical force the high school kid 'believes' in.
That might even become leverage to creationists and IDers for their argument that science is also a religion.
You read it wrong. TFA doesn't state that religion isn't superstition. It states that religion offers a benefit of superstition (the words are interchangeable a bit), namely promoting cohesion. This cohesion is a specific effect of religion and not of superstition, though the cause of both is the same because religion is a subclass of superstition.
To me it's not about having issues, but about added value. It doesn't have any. It isn't more intuitive, and certainly not faster when you're used to the old style menu.
I don't think the ribbon is a *very* bad concept, but it does add some UI bloat while it doesn't do anything new.
Okay, this was in the Netherlands, but a US company. The girl behind the counter had a button saying "if you don't see me smile, you get a free cola". So, not only in Japan (but enforced in a slightly more friendly manner).
You keep repeating the we're doing the same to our children, but then give no example of that. Also, the military train their soldiers to kill purposefully, and the soldiers know that it is on purpose and thus are more responsive to the stimuli they are given.
This is good news right? Every time some greedy company or organization does something stupid like this in public, they take a (small) PR hit. At least, hopefully. They get away with it because it's not widely known yet, but I have the feeling people are starting to know more and more about this kind of thing going on.
I dislike how FUSA (the Fast User Switch Applet) also has IM status and shutdown options. And that the shutdown options from the system menu are removed when you use FUSA. But at least you have a choice not to use FUSA.
Other than that, very good stuff!
If they would build a flash runtime in java suitable for Blu-Ray players, they would be done. Well, except for the internet connectivity required of course..
Maybe you shouldn't bookmark your porn sites.
Or even better, use a different firefox profile for them. Or even better yet, don't use a single user account for every user of your computer.
My firefox is MY firefox, and that includes all bookmarks and settings, etc.

Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to have ten (or twenty, for that matter) 100 KW lasers, than one 1 MW laser? More scalable, no single point of failure.
You don't have to fiddle with jars and so's/dll's anymore. Check https://jogl-demos.dev.java.net/applettest.html for a demo.
So... how is religion not superstition?

Also, remove 'objectionable' body parts...
Go ahead, submit more interesting stories then.
Actually, not a bad idea. Using (Ogg Theora compression) and javascript, this could work really well. Like the Gaikai thingy.
But the parent was suggesting that a majority of people, which excludes the likes of you and me, had their first computer experience using a PC
Yes, but, wouldn't they probably have had their first computer experience with a Amiga or Mac, if Windows had never existed?
No no, the inside dimensions are *much* larger than the outside dimensions. Look at this picture: http://www.inhabitat.com/2009/07/07/sahimo-hydrogen-vehicle-travels-568-kilometers-on-1-liter-of-fuel/sahimo8/, they ALL fit in!
... there are teeth in young women's vagina's and their peepee's will turn green and fall off if they touch themselves.
Young women have peepee's? Yuck!

maybe they didn't want to be associated with dick smoking fags
Dick just likes to smoke a fag now and then, what's so wrong about that? You should see what Tom and Alice are up to sometimes...
Why is that more probable than the proposition? What are you basing your claim on?

Philips has developed this as lumalive.

How is carrying around a one-time password device that can be stolen better than carrying around a thumb drive with a public key?
Looks like you don't need a new monitor. Your comment came along just fine without one.
How does this relate to the canvas:3d project and related addon?
