You read it wrong. TFA doesn't state that religion isn't superstition. It states that religion offers a benefit of superstition (the words are interchangeable a bit), namely promoting cohesion. This cohesion is a specific effect of religion and not of superstition, though the cause of both is the same because religion is a subclass of superstition.
To me it's not about having issues, but about added value. It doesn't have any. It isn't more intuitive, and certainly not faster when you're used to the old style menu.
I don't think the ribbon is a *very* bad concept, but it does add some UI bloat while it doesn't do anything new.
Okay, this was in the Netherlands, but a US company. The girl behind the counter had a button saying "if you don't see me smile, you get a free cola". So, not only in Japan (but enforced in a slightly more friendly manner).
You keep repeating the we're doing the same to our children, but then give no example of that. Also, the military train their soldiers to kill purposefully, and the soldiers know that it is on purpose and thus are more responsive to the stimuli they are given.
This is good news right? Every time some greedy company or organization does something stupid like this in public, they take a (small) PR hit. At least, hopefully. They get away with it because it's not widely known yet, but I have the feeling people are starting to know more and more about this kind of thing going on.
I dislike how FUSA (the Fast User Switch Applet) also has IM status and shutdown options. And that the shutdown options from the system menu are removed when you use FUSA. But at least you have a choice not to use FUSA.

If they would build a flash runtime in java suitable for Blu-Ray players, they would be done. Well, except for the internet connectivity required of course..
