It's even funnier when you take into account that Jay Adelson also runs revision3.com, which produces the "Diggnation" show, which is in turn sponsored by the HD-DVD coalition.
Thanks for being so condescending. I've been compiling Linux kernels since 1998, and I know how to research a problem when I run across one. There is clearly something screwed in these new IDE drivers.
Just yesterday I tried to backup my DVD of Underworld: Evolution and I couldn't because mplayer was spitting out 'CRC fail' errors. Bad sectors all over as copy-protection. Hurray for Sony.
Seriously that was the last straw for me, and that was before I saw this story too. I'm now actively avoiding Sony anything. I suppose the real test will be to see if I can keep myself from wanting a PS3 once FFXIII comes out.
... actually has nothing to do with its core function (pvr). It's the fact that the video and game plugins operate with information stored in the database. In theory this is fine, it lets you add covers, information, etc. The problem is it means you have to refresh the information whenever you add things to your directories, and if you're downloading IPTV stuff fairly often that's a pain. I wish it would have the option of just browsing the directories.
Thank you Microsoft! I know I for one was not enjoying switching to Linux as the original Vista EULA was forcing me to do. Its good to be able to once again be back in the Microsoft Camp.
I usually read the reviews before buying, but it has very little impact on whether or not I'm going to get the game. The only exception I can think of would be for games I've never heard of. For example: I didn't follow the release of 'Shadow of the Colossus', I'd never heard of it before reading reviews, and the reviews made me want to go out and play it.
They can throw whatever horrible review they want at it, but the fact is I'm fairly certain I'm going to purchase 'Final Fantasy XII' anyway.
Really about the only thing I can't stomach is country
I don't like the country stuff that plays on actual country stations and what-not, but one of my favorite bands (it's actually really only one guy most of the time) is Songs: Ohia. It's country-ish, but it's depressed and moody country, not bullshit about trucks and dogs.
They're two of the girls from Morning Musume... I think being a JPop fan will get you a certain amount of flack anywhere outside of Japan.:P (Some people take it to weird extremes though, like having blogs dedicated to this shit...)
I can't explain it really, but it seems to me (I don't actually own any vinyl records myself) like CDs are just too small. There's something about grabbing that giant vinyl record and placing it onto the player that feels different.
From a collector's standpoint I can totally understand wanting vinyl instead of CDs. Vinyl covers are big and the art is prominently displayed. CD cases are small, break all the time and they certainly don't look as good on a shelf.

I never build FS stuff as a module.
Seriously I don't know what the deal is, all the same options, 2.6.17 boots and anything past it won't. It'll usually hang on my IDE drive discovery.
I haven't been able to get anything past 2.6.17 to boot successfully, I think they seriously hosed the ATA shit.
"Blog" isn't a buzzword, it's just a really stupid word.

... I trust that website.

Are you fucking serious? After 13 years? You call that working?
Or too late.
"It appears that no longer carries DLP TVs in its product line."
eh?
CNR uses standard .deb and .rpm files, but shields the user from the complexity of these packaging systems.
heh, wicked.
I can't seriously be the only one tired of hearing about Web x.0.
Agreed.
We will begin with the firemen, then the math teachers, and so on in that fashion...
Wasn't the whole point of 'My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss' that the guy was a fake?
Er...

I'm 25 and my first hdd was 30mb. Ah... the good old days.
Kinda like this?
1 2 3 4 5? That's the combination an idiot would have on his luggage!

I really like the design of the thing, but composite video out? Why even have S-Video in if you're going to output it composite?
Slightly off-topic.
