Agreed. I would rather have HDDVD from Toshiba/NEC than deal with Sony. Also, I'm surprised that movie companies don't find a conflict of interest having Sony not only sell competing films, but provide the highly proprietary format to everyone as well. To think that a multinational corporation like Sony could not directly or indirectly use this to their advantage is naive.
How bout a blow torch, chlorine gas or liquid oxygen?:)
Even bulk titanium metal is susceptible to fire, when it is heated to its melting point. A number of titanium fires occur during breaking down devices containing titanium parts with cutting torches.
When used in the production or handling of chlorine, care must be taken to use titanium only in locations where it will not be exposed to dry chlorine gas which can result in a titanium/chlorine fire. Care must be taken even when titanium is used in wet chlorine due to possible unexpected drying brought about by extreme weather conditions.
Titanium can catch fire when a fresh, non-oxidized surface gets in contact with liquid oxygen. Such surfaces can appear when the oxidized surface is struck with a hard object, or when a mechanical strain causes the emergence of a crack. This poses the possible limitation for its use in liquid oxygen systems, such as those found in the aerospace industry.
is the ability to SMS groups and multiple people. And copy and paste function would be nice along with the tilting/sideview for the email function like safari.
Any one have any solutions for the SMS problem? I hear you can use websites, but you gotta pay. What a pain...
So you're saying that this is all old stuff? I'm sure Carmack and crew would love to see the designs and implementations of what you're talking about as they can just go copy them and pick up an Xprize. Otherwise, you need to rethink about your rigid criteria for what new and groundbreaking really means. (like making space travel commercially feasible which truly would be groundbreaking) If you don't see that, then you are a lost cause and I give up on you.:)
BTW, your profanity only reveals that you are emotionally weak minded as well. tsk tsk.;)
the grounds underneath where the rocket exploded and landed dummy.;)
seriously, they are breaking new ground in low cost rockets using the materials they are working with. Just like the way Carmack revolutionized 3d gaming or Linus did for open source. If you don't see that, then you have much to learn. Don't be so close minded.
Btw, I don't like claims likes that. Who's to say that I couldn't fly up to the summit in my helicopter with a bunch of materials, build an elevated landing pad, then take off from that thus setting a new altitude record! Who's with me?! Any billionaires out there with cash burning a hole in their pocket, please contact me as I proclaim exclusive, patented, trademarked, and copyrighted rights to this idea!
Alrighty, who wants to chip in for a helicopter ride!?!!
2005 - Helicopter landing
On 14 May 2005, pilot Didier Delsalle of France landed a Eurocopter AS 350 B3 Helicopter on the summit of Mount Everest[19] and remained there for two minutes. (His rotors were continually engaged; this is known as a "hover landing".) His subsequent take-off set the world record for highest take-off of a rotorcraft -- a record that of course cannot be beaten.[20] Delsalle had also performed a take-off two days earlier from the South Col, leading to some confusion in the press about the validity of the summit claim. This event does not count as an "ascent" in the usual fashion. [wikipedia]
I was watching Caddy Shack in HDDVD, and found out that Cindy Morgan, the hot babe, was also the girl in TRON. And she's a regular geek!

I no longer watch movies on Time Warner HD cable because I noticed that some movies had missing scenes and a friend of mine noticed it too. (40 year old virgin and some other movies I cant recall) Perhaps minor scenes were cut out for time reasons? Regardless, I like to watch HD-DVD's for the commentary and extra footage afterwards.
And I hope BluRay goes the way of Sony's proprietary Beta format.

Even Better. $2500 (720P) - $7500 (1080P)
Front projection technology has made *amazing* progress over the years. Just imagine giant screen plasmas. They are that good. And you can have the screen almost as big as you want without having to deal with a heavy ass tv.
107" Dalite Hi Power screen can be had for about $500.
Yes, but when you have multiple people watching a movie and have a decent surround setup, it kicks absolute ass. Also, split screen games like Gears of War or a 4 person match of Top Spin 2 is WAY more fun!
I'm using a 107" diagonal screen with a projector which can be had for $2500. 720p Panasonic 1800lumens.
It does look familar. Like a Half life mod. Jumping little head-crab suckers and those giant worm thingies that come at you from the ceiling.
But if the multiplayer is as fun as the original (shrink ray, remote control bombs, holographic images, etc), this could be more fun than Gears.
This user had a particularly clever way handling the driver compatibility issues of his "Vista ready" system.

Call me paranoid, but I think I'll stick to gold if I ever wear jewelry. But interesting to know if you're ever in a McGuyver type situation.
flying man boars with giant tusks actually...
I believe that a full sequence like Watson had could be done for as little as $100,000. If not now, then soon.
Thank you.
Agreed. I received mine from repair a month ago, and it already locked up on me once. The fan sounds louder than before too. :(
Yeah. Only thing that kept me from doing it was that you can't keep your number.
