    It makes sense if you use this in the context of torrents. Sites like demonoid already requires you to upload as much as you download. In other words, exchange of your bandwidth(upload) for content.

    There is actually some good that could come out of this project. That is to say, developing immunity to dangerous organisms that have not existed; or finding the possibility space for these dangerous sequences.

    There are some good things that could happen too. Refer Amazon's Mechanical Turkey and what Jeff Bezos calls 'Artificial Artificial Intelligence'. Those are some very interesting outcomes of giving third world countries access to the Internet.

    In the beginning of this year, analysts were saying that this year would be a slump. It seems the total opposite has been happening so far. Games are in fact doing pretty well. Major titles and consoles seem to be flying off the shelves.

    so that does beat cron in lots of ways. However, the question is are we losing simplicity for features? Unix has always preferred simplicity - (does one thing and does it well) - over multiple features.

    That begs the question. What are the patents on filesystems held by BeOS? Since Be has been bought out by Palm, wouldn't these patents be just another thorn in the sight for people who work on FSs. Wouldn't it be more morally right to just let go of those patents if Palm( who works on a totally different computer environment), does not require these patents.
