In Entropia, due to the "decay" of items it is more important how well you play rather than how long you play. With the decay of items you need to find the right mix of skill/equipment/targets or you lose money in a big way.
Of course most new players buy a big gun which they don't have the skills to use and waste a lot of ammo (money) and decay (money) hunting while 9/10 shots miss.

I have been playing entropia for about 6 months now and have deposited around 1500USD, My net worth in the game is probably about 500USD. Mainly because I didn't know what I was doing at first.
Yes, traders are pretty much the only ones who "make" money.
