Yes, our 'friends' at the FCC have been selling Digital TV channel 20 to police stations. The city bought those frequencies in '98. or maybe they trurned a band used for police into channel 20. Either way, they should have seen this comming. My question is what they were planning to do when Digital TV becomes more common.
so, what yo are saying is that we can use it like a VCR and not worry about monthly service fees? Cool, there is no reason for my VCR to be plugged into a phone line.
it's pretty simple, you pay for a certain number of minutes a month. Whenever you use your cell phone you are using minutes. It doesn't matter weather you made the call or recieved a call.
not only does it not have a back light, but there is no cradle, nor does it come with AvantGo. Yes, avant go is free, but that only helps you if you know what it is and where to get it. The only thing this new one has over the m105 is the built in battery, but I think the m105 is a better organizer.
What's wrong with doing 105? I can handle it, my car can handle it, and if there arn't any other cars around for me to run into for at least a half a mile, who am I endangering? The only reason going that fast is illeagal is because in most, but not all, situations it is unsafe.
You probobly just asked as a joke, but here is my take on the ATM thing. ATM manufacturers have to put brail on the walk up ones. Therefore they are already making tones of brail key's and such. A customer (bank) want to install a drive through ATM, the manufacturor has 2 choices, they can either make a different set of keys without brail, or they can just use some of the keys they already have. Which way do you think would be cheaper?
But this could set a bad precedent making all companies with graphical type sites liable.
What's wrong with that? I can see pretty well, but I would be very happy to see site move away from all the graphical junk. I think it would make sites much easier to navigate. Oh, and even with dsl, I hate waiting for flash sites to load. Almost all of them are a big wast of bandwith.
I would be upgrading my computer any way, so that cost does not count.
The current version of Paint Shop Pro will still set you back $100.
For Paint Shop Pro, I took $700 off the previous $800 for Photoshop.
For the printer, They should last quite a while if properly maintained. I have a 10 year old HP that refuses to die. As for the cost of printing, it's about $1 per page for photos, including paper and ink. I can fit 3 4x6 picures on a page. That's $0.33 per photo. Ecards charges $10 for 24 prints. That's $0.42 per picture. If you have their cupon, it is usualy half that, but even that is outweighed by the fact that I will only print the realy good pictures.
The internet access, like the the computer does not count. I would have it anyway.
Your argument about archiveing is valid. However, there is a pretty good fix, print the picures (only the ones worth printing) and put them in a photo album. The above mentioned Lexmark printer is designed for Kodak paper. They claim that the prints will last 70 years befor they start to fade.
And STILL no one has answered my question: what happens when my flash card fills up while I'm on vacation?
Do you have a laptop? A $10 adapter will let you plug a CF card into a PCMCIA slot. Empty off the card and continue taking picures. Or, just take a bigger flash card. Yes, this part can get expincive, and if you don't have a laptop, you prbobly should stick to film on your vacation.
hmmm, I already have a computer, regardless of my picture taking habits, so there goes $1200, Jasc's Paint Shop Pro is looking pretty good, another $700 off. Photo quality printer, Lexmark Z65, or it's upcoming replacement, another $250 off. Lets see... $2280-$1200-$700-$250=$130
The cost of the prints is about the same, but I won't ever have to buy film. Also, I get the added benifit of being able to e-mail or other wise electonicaly distribute them at negligable extra cost.
to quote myself " I am disapointed to see Palm trying to emulate the inefficiencies of PocketPC."
ok, it's not a PocketPC, it is a pocket personal computer. It was designed to be a small computer, just like PocketPCs were. The palm on the other hand was just the next step in organizers. The point I am trying to make is that somthing that was intended to be an organizer cannot be compaired to something that is trying, and some might say succeding, to be a computer.
Sure it is, it just isn't running Windows.:) Although it is true that my bigest gripe (no taskbar) doesn't apply to the Zaurus, I still say it is more PC than organizer.
I hate it when people compare Palm devices to PocketPCs. They are not in the same class. A Palm is an organizer. Yes it is a very advanced one, but that is all it is. A PocketPC on the other hand is meant to be a small computer. I can do more, but sacrifices the simplicity of a dedicated organizer. I work at a store where we sell both, and I have lost count of how many times the PocketPCs have crashed because people opened up too many windows, multiples of the same aplication even. You can't do this on a palm, the aplication you see is the one that is running. I am disapointed to see Palm trying to emulate the inefficiencies of PocketPC. I'm sorry to rant, but I just wanted to point out that they are separate items, designed to fullfill different needs, and cannot be compaired (apples to oranges).
Wow, 6 +5 Funnys right in a row, now that is amazing. If I was creative, I would come up with something beter so say and get 7 in a row. But I'm not creative... oh well.
I don't want the person taking my order to "understand" it, because then they will _try_ to paraphrase it and the cooks will do whay the waiter wrote and not what I asked for. I would much rather have a robot take my order and relay it in its intirety to the cook.
While GeForce4 Ti is the pinnacle of today's mainstream 3D chip technology, GeForce4 MX is a mere advance of GeForce2 MX technology. GeForce4 MX does not contain any nfiniteFX-engine and, therefore, no full DirectX 8.x functionality, either.
Although, there are benchmarks further down that show the higher end MX's compeating with the GeForce3.

And that's exactly why they should have gotten a larger fine than IBM.
My DSL box is a router :) It didn't come with a CD and my ISP supports linux. Ain't competition grand?
Not if he is payed by job instead of by hour. If the second visit is just a continuation of the original job, he doesn't get payed for it.

that's the point, If you actualy got the pattent, it would show _every_ one just how messed up the system has become.

no no no, you can't use our software to download competing software. No downloading linux isos, no mozilla, no open office, no Java...
I would be upgrading my computer any way, so that cost does not count.

Just another instance of using a positive word for a negative action. [whiney voice] but is sounds good...

If you are burrning rubber, then you are wasting energy and have lost much of your traction. You will therefore not accellerate as fast as you should.
yes, it is that realy big blue room. The resolution is superb, but I still say the physics are a little off.
not bad, my GeForce2 GTS doesn't quite cut it.
it's in the third paragraph here

Skip around a bit. Knowing the personality of the person who left the message might help a bit too.
