    Get an old Casio watch with the "beep" alarm.

    See how far you can hear it from in the air (10-15 feet in silence, maybe a bit farther with good ears), and how loud it is.

    Then jump into a pool and try the same. It's basically at full volume from 100 feet (with a couple of dozen kids playing between the watch and the listener, clear as day).

    We had a lot of fun with our watches in the pool as children, we could signal each other from anywhere in the water. We frequented a large bent rectangular pool with the deep end at 20 feet for the high dive). The sound didn't diminish around concrete corners, it was basically everywhere in the pool.

    I haven't tried this in the ocean. It was pretty cool.

    That's where efforts should mostly be focused when not purely focused on revenue generation.

    There is no shortage of answers to these questions, in any organization.

  3. That's just default options, you can add more storage. My Alienware (2 years old) is at 1.5TB with 2 M.2 slots still available.

    And the processor and graphics are desktop components.

  4. The networks do completely suck. I don't see how they can spend so much money on such dreck. Gordan Ramsey is the best thing on the networks (I like his non-child based shows).

    But I need my fix of morning news, which, for 20 days per month is worth something.

  5. Actually I just realized last night that I get Fox Sports Midwest so I can watch the Blues games. I was fine losing that, but it's nice to find that it's there.

    We have switched to YouTube TV. Not all of the channels, but enough. Local channels, bunch of news. Unlimited cloud based program storage (9 months). Sports channels (not a big concern but I watch some football, US and the rest of the world's definition, no Fox Sports for hockey though, dab-nab-it!).

    $40 per month. We have cable internet through Charter (supposedly unlimited, hasn't been an issue)..

    Combined with Netlfix (Bandersnatch!!!! we have 2 endings left and will cheat to find them) and Amazon Prime (already paid for), everything from the Roku, it works.

    Going to get HBO Go for a short time to watch Game of Thrones.

    Perfect for the car (windows are always cracked open, my ears are destroyed due to concerts and being in bands). And, I like alternate versions that aren't available anywhere.

    And one cannot get the "I'm On A Boat" video anywhere other than from YouTube (I showed it while on a houseboat, no internet available).

    Audio quality is of little concern to me as my ears are already of poor quality (no choice but to blame my parents, I'm very aware of my kid's hearing, we all wear plugs at fireworks).

    Doesn't everyone just rip music from YouTube? Certainly good enough for the car, and alternate versions are usually available if one would like (radio sessions, non-released versions, live versions, cover versions, etc.)..

    I just use a tiny USB stick in my car, with MP3 files.

    At home, I gave in and we have Alexa the associated music service. Merry Christmas to me (I'm working on a couple of Skills)!

    I need to run, there's a package from Amazon being delivered....

    * Music - $18.3 billion
    * Books, digital and physical (surprising) - $37 billion
    * Video Games - $23 billion

    So video games beat out the big screen and music in the US. I believe this has been the case for at least a few years.

    Now they have Playground mode (hunt your friends), Creative mode (similar to Minecraft), and all of the other regular modes, it's a pretty cool game.

    They have aced 4 player co-op as well. And completely cross platform.

    It's a rather incredible game, I just watch my kids (boy and girl) play, I'm not good enough at this point.

    And, they are into actual physical merchandising. Big time. Clothes, and tons of Star Wars style figurines. Building sets to actually build like in the game.

    And the game is fun. We can have 4 people all playing in the same room (2 computers, XBox One, Switch). It's a LAN party, and it can be private.

    The constant updates keep the game always changing. That's a key for longevity.
