If they had proven to me that they are responsible and know what they can (first name, likes/dislikes, etc.) and can't (address, phone number, social security number, etc.) say on the internet safely, then yes I would.
Like many others, I started off with things (i.e. phone) being around my parents...same thing with our first computer. As time went on and I earned their trust, the computer was put into my room (albiet without me knowing the password so that theyw ould know when I was online) then, as time went on and I earned their trust, I was allowed unfettered access whenever I wanted. Why? Because I had proven to my parents they could trust me. If I did something to violate that trust, it would have to be rebuilt.
You seem like the kind of person that if you found condoms in your daughter's purse, you would take them away from her. Because encouraging UNSAFE sex is the right thing to do, naturally!
Oh and by the way, I hope your young marriage works out. You will find people fundamentally change more between the ages of 18-24 than they do at ANY other time in their life. I hope for your sake you know who you married and not who you THINK you married.
I got news for you, bucko. If your kids are so stupid as to go out and meet some random person that they met on the internet, I think you should have started worrying LONG before myspace/facebook came around...
Happy birthday to...Star Wars? LOL I guess...I dunno who else to direct that to.
I'm 23 years old and have always loved the original 3...saw them for the first time when I was 6 and have been hooked ever since. No trilogy in the history of movies has ever spawned so many books, video games, etc. as Star Wars has...from those three movies came about a MASSIVE universe full of interesting creatures, ships, and languages.
Not to mention the 1977 release of A New Hope created an entirely new race of geeks/nerds...Star Wars lingo/trivia/imagery/etc. has become a mainstay in popular culture, even to the "uninitiated" (i.e. the non-geeks)
Anyway, to close up this unbelievably dumb post, happy 30th!
Agreed, that was a bit of a strange design decision...but extension cords cost all of 2-3 bucks...granted it was money you shouldn't have had to spend, but c'est la vie
I dislike Microsoft as much as the next person, but answer me this:
REGARDLESS of how shady their buisness practices are, why is it OK for companies to infringe upon Microsoft patents but NOT ok for Microsoft to infringe upon other companies patents?
It's much better contoured to the way your fingers naturally curl...starting with resting the controller on your palms, you can literally slowly close your fingers like you were about to make a loose fist and they will naturally come to rest at the perferct point in the controller....it feels very natural.
That's it. It feels natural. If it weren't for the (healthy) weight of the controller, you would forget you were holding a controller at all
Am I the only one that cannot STAND the Dual Shock controller? In fact, the controller is one of the reasons I never finished many PS2 games...I just couldn't stand using the friggin' thing
For a while, I thought it was the Dreamcast controller...it fits perfectly in my hands, has a good weight to it, and the D-pad felt solid.
Overall, I would have to agree with C-Net...the 360 controller is AWESOME. The buttons and triggers have a nice solid feel, the thing just cradles in your hands, and it has a decent weight to it. My only gripe would be with the D-Pad...other then that though, the 360 controller is at the top of the list.
Nothing beats a good keyboard/mouse combo though;-)
Perhaps that's because Democrats haven't been in the same position that Republicans have been in for the past 7 years? You know, the whole "we own ALL branches of government ENTIRELY" deal?
They are asking to be my leader with a letter after their name. I don't care what that letter is. I don't care what that person's policies are. I don't care if I agree with them on issues 100%.
When you have a letter after your name, you WILL be basing your decisions on your letter...maybe not ALL of your decisions, but the instant you make one decision because the rest of your letters want that decision, I have no use for you.
That's why the day that I do the stationary bike/video game combo, I usually have a 15-20 minute warm up time, a 15-30 minutes "exercise" time, and then an additional 15-20 minute cooldown time.
Yes yes yes, I know that's not exactly what "they" say you should do, but you know what? In 6 months, I have lost only 20 pounds on the scale, yet I have lost nearly 6 inches off my waist.
Between my lifting, cardio, and diet, I must be doing SOMETHING right;-)
I lift 4 days a week and do cardio 3 days a week. One of those cardio sessions every week is actually done on a stationary bike while playing video games.
It works fantastically...I find that I will stay on that bike for a MUCH longer time (roughly 30 minutes longer) if I am actively engaged with something other than my legs moving
"Why don't you evaluate the candidates instead of just spewing cynicism without even looking hard first?"
Did you see me say anything bad about Obama? No. I was responding to a comment that said that said the GOP needs to be wiped out and a man that is running as a democrat should be elected...this implies that if Obama was a republican, but had all the same views, then he would be worthless because he was a part of the GOP.
"I'll show you politics in America. Here it is, right here. 'I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs.' 'I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking.' 'Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding out both puppets!'" --Bill Hicks
For fuck's sake, people. Don't bash one party and then automatically revert to the other. You are basically saying "Well, this jackoff didn't work...but I can assure you that this jackoff will!"
The problem isn't the Republicans. The problem isn't the Democrats. It's what BOTH parties have done to rape this country.
You should wear sunglasses next time you come out of that hole in the ground, bud. Wouldn't want you to be any more blind than you already are....
I'm no fanboy (owned consoles from multiple companies each generation) but I think the Bungie team is getting their panties in a bunch over nothing.
Miyamoto never said Halo was bad, nor did he ever say that it wasn't a great game. He simply said that he could have made it, but chose not to. He wasn't necessarily refering to Halo SPECIFICALLY, what (IMHO) he meant was he makes his games the way that he thinks they should be made, which is not always based on what the public wants or thinks they want. He was merely using the Halo franchise as an example due to the fact that Halo 3 could be a steamy pile of crap and people will still buy it simply because of the name, if for nothing else.
I don't know about you, but I enjoyed my "innocence" much more knowing how to touch Mary-Jane Rotten-Crotch correctly "down there" when playing doctor.
We didn't get 30 hours of non-interactive storyline time back in the day because the technology didn't exist to tell the story how the creators wanted to tell it...or do you forget that your main char in a game used to be 6 pixels?
Games were simple. Games were fun.
Games now are complicated. Games now are still fun.
See the connection? Games = fun. The era shouldn't matter, the capacity in the storytelling shouldn't matter; what should matter to you is that you are holding a controller and are living through an EXPERIENCE, one pixel at a time.
You know what, call me stupid but any time I watch a dual-layer DVD on my 360, the point at which it switches layers is practically unnoticeable. Compare this to my year-old standalone mid-range DVD player that takes nearly a full half-second to switch layers.
All I'm saying is that the whole "switching layers" argument seems like complete bullshit to me. I mean, heaven forbid it takes an additional quarter of a second in the loading times...
Would additional space be a virtue? Yes, of course it would be. However, I'll take the smaller medium if not for it's cost, then if nothing else at least for its time as a proven technology.
Despite my thoughts of Sony as a corporation, I must say that I love my PSP. I can rip any of my DVD's and play them right on there with absolutely no modding or anything necessary...I can sit in a coffee shop and browse the net...or I can pop in a game and just do whatever.
And of course, the v1.5 homebrew stuff is always fun.
Sure, the battery kinda blows (which can be very much helped with aftermarket bats) and the loading times a bit slow, but it's still a fantastic little toy.
They are like you in every way, except for one thing: They remember to actually click "Post Anonymously"

Now let's get shit faced at a Cantina, eh?

In my opinion, none of the final fantasy's since FF6 have really been worth the time invested anyway...
(and yes, I have played them all)
...you would think that Gates and Jobs would be best buddies....
After all, who else besides them have duped and lied more than them? (outside of politics, of course)
The difference between Gates and Jobs is only this: Gates TELLS you he is fucking you in the ass, whereas Jobs just hopes you won't notice.

not necessarily wrong, just innacurate...they used the wired controller that comes with the Core system...
;-)
No idea why they would do that, but what do you want it's Cnet
I agree with your point, but you are forgetting something...it wasn't six million people killed, it was six million JEWS...
However, jews were HARDLY the only ones killed in the holocust...they just made up the bulk of it and as such get the most attention (understandably)

My dad actually has an original Gorf standup-arcade machine...
"Some galactic defender you are, space ca-det"
You honestly think that?
Personally, I LOVE everything about the 80's. It's cheesyness was part of it's appeal.
Go and watch Breakfast Club and just try to get through the whole movie without your foot tapping to the beat at least once.

...have you so easily forgotten the cinematics to Diablo II? Easily the best collection of cutscenes in any game EVER.

Optical discs are NOT the wave of the future.
