Those movies that are 'pay per view', you can watch as many times as you want for up to 24 hours. Its more convenient than renting, but you can't keep it as long.

That's likely exactly why Rogers Cable here in Toronto decided to switch to Video on Demand systems. On top of the pay-per-view on demand, they even added a new MovieNetwork channel that's on-demand; so you can watch any movie you want, when you want it; you just need the digital box and a subscription to the network (no pay per view on this one)

(I don't mean to sound like an ad, but considering I believe its on topic, I think this is the way the industry is moving towards; because of the internet everyone wants everything NOW).

Comdex Canada has been cancelled for 2 years in a row now; for all I know is now shut down. I've noticed the last few years they've slowly decreased the size. When I first started going it was in both the SkyDome AND the Toronto Convention Centre. Later, it was only the convention centre, and in the last year, they used about half of one of the main halls in the convention centre.

I've also noticed the coolness factor of the free things being given away at comdex has decreased over the last few years.

This is sad, as Comdex was the only computer show I looked forward too. Other ones were just giant computer flea markets and did not demonstrate any new technology.

Does anyone even think that a car's alternator could handle the wattage needed to run an E450? It comes with a 600W power supply (which is about 5A at 120V; translating to at least 50A at 12VDC). (He says he's using 230V outlets on his system, but in any case, the calculation to 12VDC is still the same)

I just have a feeling that the 'power inverter' isn't capable of 600W per power supply (I checked the specs on the E450), and neither is the car's alternator to handle it. Actually, this link to the power inverter he used says that it only handles 300W; which is clearly insufficient to handle a single E450 power supply.
