My 'granny' is running Ubuntu with cable, few other cable subscribers (internet, anyhow) around her, and still complains her internet connection is too slow.
Well, most of them have their e-mail addresses (as well as AIM screen names, phone numbers, addresses, etc.) listed in their profiles, but if they prefer to talk via MySpace or Facebook, I'd be a bit of a jerk to contact them some other way, wouldn't I?
There are a lot of people I know in meatspace and have known for years (Such as a girl I lived next door to all my life until I moved away from home) who I have on MySpace and Facebook, and have no other way of contacting them because that's the most convenient way -for them- to communicate.
Wimp. I have my 75 year old grandmother running Ubuntu and the only thing I've had to explain to her is how to get her internet connection working again (Shitty router that I'm thinking of smashing with a hammer next time I go visit her) by power cycling the router.
My only problem is I'm starting off at about 6'3", 330lbs (Yeah, I'm a fatty.) so I have a pretty long way to go. I'm down a few pounds, but not enough.
I have a few DVDs which I can't play on my computer running XP. I get DRM errors in WMP and a few other programs. Is there any way to get around that? I don't want to rip them or anything, I just want to be able to play my purchased media on the hardware I choose.
It would take a lot of explaining to get my grandmother to understand why she's getting e-mails from some guy called Grimbleton (or any other pseudonym I use on a daily basis), signed with my name.

there is a distinct lack of competition for family housing at each facility, with a "preferred provider" pretty much owning the area in many cases.
So what you're basically saying is you live in an average market. Gotcha.
My aunt (A major Trekkie) and I made plans to go next year after her last year of teaching, when she was officially retired.... ... her treat!
I always enjoyed having to talk to my vendors instead of using a graphical interact .
And now localization has mostly killed that.
Contacting someone you do business with isn't illegal.
I can't find a fucking job skilled or unskilled right now, how can this possibly help?
4chan
I'd sure hate to see the guy they modeled the Aztek after.
That doesn't really mean that at all. I'm 22 and half of my latest non-important-item-or-food purchases were toys.
Did you seriously just compare Indiana Jones to a piece of hack fiction? Oh... wait.. Yeah, I see it now.
On the plus side, at least you're well-rested.

Such as yourself?
Can't you fill both the parent AND friend role? I think you can.
Sometimes the world is harsh. Suck it up and deal.
Oh if only it were as useful as posting anonymous flames on Slashdot...
It also stands for Suck It, Peon.
Weight lifting and bicycling/walking everywhere.

Block/ban and ignore. Duh.
Better solution: Be boring as hell. Works for me!

Linux? WoW patches?
