Obviously the guy who wrote this article is not a programmer, he is a liberal arts major and knows a little about the crisis... nice interesting read.
I did not like the fact that he claimed that he was over paid all along his career, and compared the work done by some oyster farmer to being harder than a computer programmer, sounded more like a pol-pot fan.
Even obama said that 10yrs from now most of the high paying jobs will require at least a 4 yr degree, and even higher paying jobs like in engineering and sciences will requires 4yrs+. I think the president should have a very high level view which most of us cannot possibly have, which means there should be some merit to what he said.
Go for it dude, you will be 35 anyway, why not get a degree along the way?
I am surprised that these are listed as *new* features, I must admit the last windows I used was W95, so I have lost track of what windows can do. But what is listed as *new* is pretty standard on other operating systems I have used.
It takes 8yrs for an H1B to become a permanent resident, for something that should realistically happen over night or in 24hrs. Bureaucracy accounts for most of the time taken. If H1B workers are quickly moved to permanent resident status we wont have issues wrt to unfair or unequal compensation. Corps will be forced to compensate US citizens & others fairly. Mr Bill runs a business not a social service program, he will hire those who work for less pay. Don't blame Mr Bill, blame your friendly bureaucrats.
Which device causes more interference? Digital or Analogue ? Either way, when the plane lands/takes off and it gets close to the ground, it is immersed in all sorts of digital/Analogue noise, microwave, terrestrial TV, cell phone etc that is much more powerful than "hand held" devices on board. So we should be seeing more incidents of Airplane crashes on takeoff and landings right ? or does the shell of the airplane shield the components?
I am more or less in the same boat, not that I dont like IT anymore or that work is boring... I just would like to be a business owner rather than being an employee. I am having starting trouble, and I am trying to educate and prepare myself (financially) to get to where I want to go. You get one chance that lasts on an average 77.5years, make some good use of it.
I hope they fixed the 64bit flash issue with firefox and got wine ported to work on 64bit ubuntu. I am still waiting on 64bit version of wine, there are some docs on howto get 32bit wine installed on the Ubuntu forum. I read that there is a 30% performance increase by having a 64only OS, anyone know anything abt this ?

What? Mercury? .... made in china?
How much did you make this year ?

"" Vista today, post-Service Pack 2, which is now in the marketplace, is the safest, most reliable OS we've ever built ""
Micro$oft is finally admitting it.... Or in other words "this is the best we can do".

The other 2/3rds is XP - Ubuntu dual boot.

CNN claims that these companies are on the heavy side as far as employees are concerned. The lay offs numbers are global, not just in the US.
Japanese are creative when it comes to things like this... they have monkeys for waiters, robots for actors...
Does the spider now become an "illegal Alien"?
Does that signal an end to Global warming ?
I did not know that ubuntu was a player in the server market.

Got a Law degree (I think 3yrs will get you a JD), then you could be a patent lawyer and make big bucks.
Why would anyone waste their time navigating a 3D image of the ocean ? ... just curious...

This is why the president stressed the need for math and science in schools.
I prefer Ubuntu over OSX or Vista, even if I got a "free" copy of OSX or Vista.
