Indeed. Not to open old wounds, but every reliable news source confirmed that had the votes been recounted "for real," Gore won. (Both the popular vote and the electoral vote.)
It has nothing to do with DRM. The average consumer has no idea what it is, what it does, that it's there, or why it isn't in their best interest. They're concerned with cost vs performance.
Think about it in terms of when DVDs took over from VHS: It was a glorious time known as the late 90s. The economy was strong, TVs were becoming noticeably sharper, and the biggest worry we had was where Billy was sticking his Willy. DVDs were more expensive, but relatively affordable, and people had money to spend.
Think about now: Although better, TVs aren't enough better for the average consumer to spend over a month's salary on. The economy is trying to commit suicide, so wages are down while cost of living is up. Now we're more worried about getting bombed than what words Bush is messing up. Blu Ray is more expensive by a similar percentage, but who has the money to spend, when what they have is just fine?
Although a supporter of free speech, and vehemently against censorship... I don't actually believe minor's should have those same rights. Although an adult certainly might abuse it in the same way, and might make a television program about some sort of personal "factor," kids are less likely to know the difference between calling someone names and criminal accusations, as perfectly exemplified here.
All in all, suspension seems an appropriate sentence, if lenient. If you can't be trusted with certain rights, you shouldn't be harshly judged for abusing them.
Not if they ironically delete the article on Deletionpedia. It seems more that editors are upset anyone would keep their hard deleted articles than that they care about a standard of quality for wikipedia.
Remember, wearing your shoes on your feet is very stressful on them and will void your warranty. Also please note that wearing your shoes on other body parts violates your ToS, and will void your warranty.
It seems akin to complaining that an electrician can't do plumbing, or that a professor of German language can't speak French. But, your manager should be able to do your job.
Similar tests could be easily applied to any management position. A good manager should be able to do an task they assign, plus the skills to manage multiple workers, as a team.
If they can't do my job, why are they making more than me?
From a consumer standpoint, I couldn't care less. It won't actually stop me from enjoying the game, so it's a non-issue there.
From a nerd standpoint, it's not enough to make me upset. I know getting upset won't stop them, complaining won't stop them, and a boycott won't stop them. Asking EA to not use DRM would be tantamount to asking the pacific ocean to get rid of its salt, or asking Obama to stop using the word hope.
Hey if your local mechanic already owns a yacht, he may as well build himself a prius:)
But other than that, I agree. Who has the time and money? Upper management, and they don't have the interest. Who has the time and interest? Me, but I don't have the money!
The problem is that there isn't a better alternative in many areas. In my neighborhood, I do have access to Qwest or AT&T, but neither is a better solution.
Qwest, although it has some plans approaching the speed I get from Comcast, is more expensive, and doesn't have much of an edge for customer service.
I've had better experiences with AT&T, but their speeds of 3MBps maximum just won't cut it (two people playing MMOs, general surfing, and VOIP can get somewhat demanding.)
The other small advantage is that I get local cable access, which ends up at a net savings. I was fine with my rabbit-ears, but as long as it's effectively free, I'm fine with their crappy TV service.
Long story short; as long as they're cheapest, I'll put up with their crap. It's not like other companies provide great custoimer service, and are above throttling my speed:D
This article is part of a government conspiracy!
Especially since it was already fixed by the time the article was written!
The headline should have read "Police Make and then Fix Mistake!"
Maybe your hypothetical person under attack from botnets should move to Japan and get cheap broadband.

My loathing of DRM software is clashing horribly with my abhorrence of class-action lawsuits! What ever shall I do??
I guess I'll go play Spore until I decide.
It proves that popup dialogues are annoying.
Exactly, The look and feel are great. Its number one issue for most users is the enormous amount of system resources required.
Maybe they should switch to a kernel of UNIX :p

This one has nothing to do with technology.
MBAs want to make lots of money. Traditionally, telling everyone the secrets behind your product is bad business. Heck, Mrs. Dash isn't open source :p
Fine
"As a supporter of free speech depending on the person's mental capacity to handle it"
Better?
Doesn't everyone like pc guy better anyway? Plus who cares?
How could you possibly expect anything different? Does iTunes run on the zune?

I work at target, so no pre-order for me. I'll just buy it before we open :D
OH WAIT! I meant to say "It won't be as good as Champions... if it actually gets made"
Of course they haven't responded. They never do until they release the fix.
Patience! You can switch to WEp for a few days if you need to browse the internet on a tiny screen when your computer is right next to you THAT badly.

They should allow it, and sell zunes in the apple store.
