If people had to pay for their own health care and health insurance the price would drop remarkably and they would care about it more. We don't expect our auto vendor or employer to pay for our auto insurance. We don't expect our mortgage holder or building contractor to pay for our property insurance. Health insurance should not be paid for by the employer.
Flash is Fundamentally Flawed. Period. It isn't just that Flash is a resource hog. Flash is overwhelmingly used for ads and glitz. Useless. I run with plugins turned off. No Flash. Much pleasanter.
Just because it is old tech to you doesn't make it useless. Upgrading to new stuff often wastes precious time and attention. Vendors need to take responsibility for forward and backward compatibility.

I can type fast enough to keep up with a normal speaker (not auctioneer). My handwriting can't cope with the speed that people talk. For diagrams do both pen and computer perhaps, or use a drawing program. Very personal preference. We didn't have laptops when I was in school so it was moot. I used ultra-short hand and then transcribed.

First of all, there is no excuse for your not having backup copies of your web site. Backing up is easy. It's fun. Do it regularly. Keep local copies.
