If I were a consultant (and I am) the first order of business would have been to remove any and all Windows 98 workstations as soon as possible. If they were hesitant they would have to sign a waiver indemnifying me of the almost certain issues they will run into with a network running an outdated OS.
I actually have used both a Blackberry and a Treo 650 simultaneously for work (BB for email, Treo for phone features). Recently I installed the Cingular "Xpress" software. It can work with corporate email that does use a redirector but is actually pushing the email to my Treo. Sent items are synched, email read on the Treo are marked as read on my desktop, Calendar is synched, I can search corporate contact lists, etc. Not too bad. I haven't picked up my Blackberry in about a month.
I'm not sure how this can impress anyone. They made more than God cashing in their stocks. I say they are still being greedy. Why not take a $.01 salary. Wow...they are all about the company! Taking no salary! How many yachts to they need to water-ski behind !?! How much is enough !?!?

Agreed. We had a couple Axis cameras temporarily "donated" by customers that were incredible products (easy to setup, linux based). Had them pointing at a couple foosball tables. I would definitely get one if the price point wasn't so prohibitive.

I didn't and paid for it. Within about 3 hours time, some bastard got in, created a superuser, DoS'd nasa.gov, spawned a few irc servers, and started scanning other IP's for the same exploit. Damn they work fast.
This game was so addicting I remember going on vacation to Hawaii and spending more time in the video game room than on the beach. Of course I was 14 at the time.
