Do Rental car companys like National, Budget, Alamo, etc, have to get special licences from Ford, Dodge, Chevy, etc to rent their cars/trucks to people???????
...and everybody sits outside on their porches all afternoon
Well you just proved the guy's above theory wrong..heh. If everyone was sitting on their porches, then there would be tons of witnesses.
I had AC in my apt(window unit), I ran it at night and in the morning(so I could sleep), it costs me $20 extra a month. It's not that expensive. Like everything in life, use it responsibly. Dont have it cranked down to 65, use the thermostat. Turn it off when you are not home, blah blah. Sure it may mean sacrifices, buy less beer, cigs, pop, junk food, drugs, etc.
It's probably a paradox. People are inside because it's not safe, and it's not safe because people are inside.
Dont blame the destruction of the "beauty of summertime" on the air conditioner. Sure back in the pre-AC days you could as a boy walk down the streets and be safe, but now days its not safe. Just ask Samatha's mother. With possible serial killers or being shot in your own yard. People would rather not just sit on the porch and enjoy the summer time.
The court ruled it legal to fuck the voters by running out the clock, and demonstrated how to do it.
The court's job is to interpret laws not go create them. If the law says that the polls close at 8pm, the county officials have the right to lock the doors at that time. If you do no like the law, I suggest you work at a grass roots level to get the law changed. Find more people tho agree with you and lobby your state gov't.
how is being 100% digital hasten its appearance? I could do a entire movie in analog, and someone else could still bootleg it, capture it on his/her pc, convert to divx and upload it to the net.
its not "rewriting history". If the writer made an honest mistake, and went back to change the story to the events that actually did occur, it's not rewriting history.
changing a story to add new found facts, is adding to history.
The easiest way to get shot is to carry a gun -- Atticus Finch
Are you sure that carrying a gun is the easiest way to go shot? I mean, where do you carry it? In a bag, in your pocket, or maybe a holster. If Im just carrying it, how would someone else know I have it to shoot me. Oh, maybe it will accidently go off and hit me. Im sure there are faster ways of getting shot rather than just carrying it and waiting for it to go off or waiting for someone to shoot me b/c I have a gun.
But if you formalize it and you create a device that skips certain second increments, you've got that only for one reason, unless you go to the bathroom for 30 seconds.
they photocopy articles b/c copy paper is stronger than newspaper..plus the ink from the copy doesnt get on your hands:P

this is a lame statment.
I can buy 50 recordable cds for $19.99(b4 a 10 rebate;) 1 music cd costs from $9.99 to $20. So of course recordable cds will out sell music cds, even if people were not using them to "pirate" music. Recordable cds dont even come in 1 packs do they?
I know its old, so? Is that where your bottleneck is? Are the sectary's of the world saying "damn ps/2 keyboard! I could crank out more papers if I had usb"
If it's money thing, I can understand. It maybe cheaper put usb on the mobo, than to put usb AND ps/2..ok:)
The news casts are fair, the other shows are right leaning. The election coverage was extremely fair.
You dont watch O'Reilly and expect to not see any bias. You do watch the 5:30pm(cst) news on CBS, NBC, ABC and expect to see fair reporting and you dont.
More and more people are watching Fox, so they must be doing something right.(bad pun)
The WinTV PVR card does take a lot of work to get it going, but once you do it works well.
There is 1 major program with the mpegs(2) it captures. There seems to be a delay with the audio. Just fire up TMPEGEnc and do a multiplex and its fixed. You can also use TMPEGEnc to edit the video, it works really well.
The mpeg1 encoding is bad, but you have the open of telling it the bitrate that you want to use.
The mpeg2 is not bad, I usually capture at 4MB/sec to fit 22mins of video on a cd. You can capture up to 12MB/sec if you need to. I do 6MB/sec if Im not going to archive to cd.
Yes I know its not a tivo, but I can archive my shows to cd or convert to divx if I want to.
I have dsl in Minneapolis, MN. I wanted a static IP and Qwest MSN does not offer that, so I just looked for a third party ISP. I pay for the dsl line(31.95 or something) and a measly $19.95 for my third party ISP. I get a static IP, I can use Linux or whatever OS I want, and I can use any email program I want.
Yeah its 20 bucks more, but you if want quality you pay for it.

fox news in fair and balanced. You are just used to the news leaning towards the left that anything in the middle is right to you.

Yeah, You dont need a dual processor PC either, a single processor is good enough and uses less energy.
Ive run video editing and lots of other programs on single processor machines just fine.
my pc PVR does not crash, plus I can archive my shows to cd. Can you do that with a tivo?
oh, and I dont pay a monthly fee. Yahoo has good tv schedule, and damn, do I really need to be watching that much tv anyway?
Let sleeping processes lie
Too bad they didnt have this when George OLeary first became coach, they could have ran it on his resume.
If I do a video capture of a tv show. Edit out the commercials. Burn it to a cd, and then send that cd to a friend. What law am I breaking?
How is that any different than using a VHS tape, and hitting pause when a commercial comes on, then sending that tape to a friend?
Ok final question? I have this episode, and my friend downloads it from my PC, did we just break the law?
I will probably have to rip them, copy them to a cdr, just to play on my ps2/dvd/cd player.
Thanks Universal!
I wonder how well IT performs in snowy icy conditions.
Right, like Im gonna ride a scooter in Minnesota in January.
its like comparing *apples* to oranges
sorry, I had to.
Sporting events bring a lot of money that benefits a community. The NFL donates a lot of money and players time to the United Way.
Look at what the Super Bowl does for the city that hosts it. Millions of dollars are spent that would not otherwise if the game wasnt there.

They also did it at night, and made sure the buildings were evacuated.
