I don't think any other PDA loses its memory when the battery runs out, that was just a problem with older Palm devices. Personally I switched from a Treo to an MDA Vario II and would never go back: good web browser, decent UI, more stable, more memory and a better keyboard.

Well, solved in that you can use longer jumps, I agree it's still a mess though. Each section doesn't have to be in a seperate file for gcc, you can just tag the function declaration with the correct section attribute.

The long jump issue was pretty much solved by using multiple code sections. It's fairly easy with Codwarrior or gcc-palmos, although has a small performance cost. It is still a very bad OS to develop for: limited dynamic RAM compared to other handsets, the hassle of worrying about ARM/68k code still, the 'filesystem'.

  5. Not surprising on ISP Closes Webmail After Spammers Get Addresses · · Score: 4, Informative

Not all that surprising, this is a company whose account password policy is 5-8 characters, all lower case, no non-alphanumeric characters. I've been with plus.net for ages, they seemed fantastic after my truly awful experiences with Demon, but they've been much worse recently - they broke routing recently so that I couldn't connect to my work VPN for days. Anybody recommend any other decent UK ISPs? I hear good things about Pipex.

Personally, I prefer to have automated, incremental backups of all my documents: I use Deja Vu on my Mac to inrementally backup all of Documents, Photos, Music to an external hard drive at 18:30 every day. You could use cron to do that, but it would require more knowledge than your average user has.

Exactly, it's a ridiculous article, nobody would claim a phone cam could match a dSLR or even a decent point-and-shoot camera. For medium light, short range, stationary pictures, the camera in my k800i is pretty good. For anything else, compression artifacts, shutter lag, weak flash, image noise and lack of optical zoom make it poor.
