Wouldn't this also cover laptops as well? although most do have replaceable batteries, i can think of a few that do not, and more and more appear to be heading that way in the "compact notebook" realm.
It's patently obvious to anyone who has ever driven a FWD car on ice that you lost TWO needed inputs when the drive tires loose grip versus one on a RWD vehicle.
On a FWD vehicle, if you lose grip on the drive wheels, you also lose steering input. On a RWD vehicle this is not the case.
Anybody who drives on snow and ice a lor, will always prefer a good AWD or 4WD vehicle over a FWD vehicle, and for those with RWD vehicles, all they do is add weight to the back of the vehicle.
personally i spend most of my winter driving on snow and ice, and wouldn't EVER want a little FWD car to do so.
older means different flavors, not necessarily better ones.
It all depends on the starting point and the taster's preference.
i can't remember which one it is, but there is a scotch distillery somewhere that allows you to purchase entire casks and age them by the year for a nominal fee for as long as you like. when it reaches the age you want they will bottle it for you and ship it to you for another small fee.
I have a business partner who is in on a cask this way.
Google can absolve itself of any responsibility for using their "beta" applications (even though they are pushing corporate customers to do so) simply by using the ole "point and claim beta" trick.
The best part is that more mature (older meaning) software companies put out a product that is feature complete (not really) and MOSTLY bug free (considering how complex the software is) and don't rely upon the "beta" tag to cover their ass. Instead, they continue to update, improve, correct, and generally act like real software companies and they get derided by the same people who simply accept it from Google because of the "beta" tag.
These are the same type of morons who think it's simple to make an operating system without bugs and problems, yet seemingly accept them from their favorite flavor of =nix all the time.
Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, et al have been making software a lot longer than Google, and have, in my opinion, been doing it a lot better too. They may have bugs in their products, and may require updates to correct these, however at least they aren't trying to hide behind a "but it's still beta" moniker simply becuase they know their drooling masses of fans will nerdgasm over everything they put out and just accept the flows as it's still being "worked on".
if that's all it took, then people would start posting fake notices (ie committing fraud) for the groups they OPPOSE, thus preventing the legitimate copyright holder from keeping their copyright.
punish the criminal. in this case that is whoever sent the notices.
When a certain species of animal overmultiplies, and Mother Nature brings a drought, food becomes scarce & animals starve.
first of all, that isnt how it works.
when an animal species grows, it grows to the level that the current food sources will allow, and then stabilizers there without any drought needed due to the pressure the population puts on it's food sources. Meaning if the food source will only support x number of animals, then those above x will die due to malnourishment all on their own. also when a prey animal increases population, there is most times (in a natural world) a corresponding increase in the number of predatory animals because they too fall into the first part of the statement. this will also lead to the control of the prey animal population.
Pretty soon Mother Nature will be doing the same to the animal known as Homo sapiens. The drought will be scarcity-of-oil, the food shortage will be caused by idle farming equipment, and the U.S. and E.U. will no longer be able to sustain their 250 and 500 million citizens.
you do realize that the US and EU are both major EXPORTERS of foodstocks don't you?
The US alone could substantially increase their food production simply by actually farming all of the available land instead of allowing some of it to sit fallow (and i don't mean fallow in the context of crop rotation).
your statements are so far from the truth it almost sounds like you've been brainwashed.....
they better be able too since studios are starting to send out movies with "digital copy" included.
not too mention the ability from people to LEGALLY download and have on their computer movies, tv shows and the like through several sources including amazon unbox and itunes......
if they were to try to take my laptop for this while i have files from those sevices on them, or even digital copies, They'd better be willing to have a fight on their hands.
it's already stupid that i've seen someone pulled out of line for talking wiht someone else and using the term "that's the bomb" in conversation.
because of course, someone who's trying to bring an exlposive device on board would be using words that are almost guaranteed to draw attention.
DVD Decrypter development stopped years ago as well. About the same time as DVD Shrink
however, utilizing AnyDVD, which as you said requires not involvment of the user, along with ImgBurn will create a direct 1-1 ISO copy of the DVD on your hard drive.
which appears to be the same that this "new" program from real does.
It takes about two minutes to learn how to do this.
combine this with one of dozens of simple media center plugins which will automatically mount and play, through a nice visual 10 foot gui, and you can play any movie you want with a few clicks of a mouse or remote.
I can use MyMovies (which is a free plugin) to do exactly that, and while doing the rip, it will connect to the MyMovies online database (which is several orders of magnitude better than imdb, amazon, et al) to pull down all of the information about the movies as well.
You've obviously never been employed in the building industry. I have.
In fact from the age of 13 to 20 it was my job. I worked in HVAC and plumbing as a summer job until i graduated HS and then till i was 20 as a full time job.
i then got back into the business as a professional manufacturer's representative and then a wholesale salesman.
most local codes are in direct conflict with NATIONAL building codes.
In fact, the southern building code is in direct conflict in many places, and we can see how well that worked out during the last 20 years for hurricane protection.
Most code's are a joke.
They don't change year to year.
They stay static for way to long.
They PREVENT new and better technologies from being used and instead try to FAVOR old time practices and keep old time union practices in place.
like pouring a lead joint for cast iron drain pipe. useful if you are FORCED by code to do it, but no one in their right mind thinks its a better, safer, and more productive application than a no-hub gasket or even a hub gasket.
the same can be said for many code requirements.
like having to place individual steel plate anti-nail protection underneath drywall for corrugated stainless steel gas pipe, but not for copper water pipes or even for pex (flexible plastic tubing of a specific types for those that don't know) water pipes. that makes perfect sense. why does it happen? because according to theory, if you puncture a gas line, you can blow up your house but if you puncture a water line, it only leaks.
great theory until you realize that most walls also contain electrical outlets which when exposed to water tend to start fires.
oops.
most codes are arbitrarily assigned in reactionary ways, and don't truly make sense.
sounds like another "law making" body i know......
no. i don't need something like this type of organization making the rules for me and telling me what i HAVE to do in order to get a job.
Unions are the very problem in US industry that is forcing movement elsewhere.
No, you don't deserve $25/hour (to start) plus full benefits to drive a local delivery truck. sorry.
and when you make $40/hour to repeatedly screw in 15 screws, you better have planned well for retirement instead of buying a new truck every year and a new boat every other.
i live in the midwest and grew up here in union manufacturing towns.
all of those jobs are gone due to overpayment for jobs anyone can do.
forcing higher wages and forcing arbitrary qualifications will do the EXACT same thing to IT jobs. Only it will happen faster than ever as the ability to move the jobs is easier.
Just for reference, my father is 59 years old and an avid reader of fiction books and owns over 2000 paperback and hardback books for entertainment.
now having said that, my father has recently been forced to stop working and has found himself with a lot of time on his hands.
I bought him the Sony eBook reader and downloaded a large number of books for him (most he already owned, but yes some he didn't). I showed him how to convert and load the "books" onto his reader and he has taken to it immediately and probably reads 2-3 hours a day.
He's also found other places online to download other types of media to display on the reader.
he's told me that he actually prefers the reader to the actual books for the type he likes to read (think robert jordan and terry brooks type) simply because they are lighter, and most importantly, he's always reading the page on the right, which seems more natural for most people.
the only part he misses is the actual "feel" of the paper and most of that is just from past love of books.
other than that, he loves the reader and actually buys books now mostly online if he can.
because it's always best to do whatever they feel like, when they feel like it, and then complain loudly and demand others fix it for them when it's their fault in the first place silly.....
it's amazing that as someone who has never earned more than $48k/year (and that only in the last 4) in his lifetime, and is 36 years old, i already have $80k in the bank that will continue to grow and will provide for me in my later years. yet i've also managed to pretty much have most of the things i've wanted out of life.
why?
because instead of buying the $40k-50k SUV, i bought the $25k utilitarian pickup truck (4WD was a must for winter however), instead of buying the $300k home and paying the associated taxes and support costs i pay $650 month in rent and use the rest of the money that i would "invest" in a house to truly invest and make real money that is flexible and not tied to something that must be liquidated to receive the money, instead of spending hundreds of dollars a week on bullshit like eating out and entertaining my friends i select instead to eat well at home, enjoy friends at their home or mine, and take that extra money every month and invest it.
in other words, i've made the choice (with 30 years of working ahead of me) to not blow all my money monthly now, and instead plan for a future where I can enjoy myself IF I choose to do so.
I'd bet that depends on your view of "cruel" now doesn't it.
PETA would like to thank you for your post.
so would the CLIT commander.
Wouldn't this also cover laptops as well?
although most do have replaceable batteries, i can think of a few that do not, and more and more appear to be heading that way in the "compact notebook" realm.
you are a sad, sad little man..... i pity you.

if you can't find the humor in that, you have a serious problem.
the best moment tipper ever had in the press......
it's hard to have any per capita debt when you have nothing to buy.....
this is /.
these facts are not the ones you are looking for.....
*waves hand*
A truck that doesn't weigh much on its own is going to be able to haul heavier loads more easily (not to mention brake and turn corners better).
Only if said lighter materials are able to withstand the higher load weights.
in many cases, they cannot and therefore are not used.
Materials that can are so much more expensive that they make no viable sense to use.
This means one of two things.
1. You don't know how to drive a vehicle.
2. You don't drive the FWD car in the ise.
It's patently obvious to anyone who has ever driven a FWD car on ice that you lost TWO needed inputs when the drive tires loose grip versus one on a RWD vehicle.

personally i spend most of my winter driving on snow and ice, and wouldn't EVER want a little FWD car to do so.
A reasonable power-to-weight ratio is all you need to drive up mountains.
so i guess a small rear wheel drive sports car is the ABSOLUTE BEST possible pick to drive up a mountain then?
uhhh no.
go back to your hole and try again......
exactly.
older means different flavors, not necessarily better ones.
It all depends on the starting point and the taster's preference.

Only certain bourbon makers do this, including Maker's Mark.
Most do not rotate barrels at all.
line breaks are your friend and will most likely get more people to read your tinfoil hate postings.
like this......
Exactly.

im going to say that i dont care about proper punctuation when posting on an internet message board.
I have written several technical manuals and users guides in my lifetime.
all were well received by their users. /. users i could really give a rats ass about.
no they aren't
they are written by a local code board which may CONTAIN electricians, but in most cases is controlled by the local inspector force.
Yes, i worked extensively in that industry and was part of the code making process on many occasions.
