PCA has always worked well prior to XP, could this be an attempt at killing off PCA or just a coincidence..

I remember thinking macs were silly for only having single button mice ages ago but I thought that had all changed now. I was looking at the pics on that page for ages trying to see how many buttons it had, none from what I could see..but the text explains its not a mouse, its just one big optical-motion-tracking-button.
Of course, I guess you could always just buy a new mouse :)

Wouldn't the people who sell their programs (for whom I cant think of a name for at this time of night) to TV broadcasting companies not like this little bit of technology very much? Would they be able to sue if a TV station used it to modify, although only very slighty, the program which they were meant to air?

For the viewer there would probably be no noticeable difference unless you closely examined the whole unedited program all the way through beforehand.. but for the big companies selling their shows it seems like it could be another chance to sue someone and get some extra spending money.

People will learn from trying to use these machines though, I was never told anything about using computers apart from dir shows you whats in a directory, cd changes the directory, and anything that ends in .bat, .exe or .com runs when you type its name. Anything else I found out was from playing around.
Sure, not everyone will feel like its safe to just play around, but alot of people will and these ones will probably be able to pass knowledge onto their friends/family.
People learn more from trying things and remembering mistakes they have made, so giving away free machines (running linux or whatever) would probably make a big difference to this digital divide thing.

Selling a combo unit like this could also get people who are not really bothered about DVDs to at least buy DVDs sometimes. I cant see myself getting a DVD player anytime soon (like many other people) because I dont watch that many videos, and when I do VHS is ok - its not like I have a great TV/sound setup that will take advantage of the better video/sound quality. But, I was planning on getting a gamecube to play with, so if theres nothing to lose by getting one of these instead of a gamecube, and its not too much more expensive, then I probably will. This means that if I rent a video and like it enough to buy it then I would probably get it on DVD because I can now play them on my deformed gamecube.
