You pay for the significant effort expended to create the maps. You pay for the receiving hardware. You pay for the support and R&D in the prior mentioned items. If they also had to provide the sats then it would be beyond the means of many of the people that use the system today. So vote on, I did I have a standalone unit that I use on my motorcycle all the time.
Sometimes the tracking and cost to correct the issue are more than the actual 'waste'. In pretty much every area of government there is out right fraud, THAT is where the focus should be. Or how many billions have been given out by Congress to buy votes from us with our own money? This guy is a loon.
I would assume he was found not guilty due to mental defect. If not I would be very afraid as his sentence reaks of the thought police. Sadly there is instances now of people's sentences being sent to "fix" their way of thinking.
How many years later? Now shutdown all coal and we can go green energy as soon as the windmills come online. Oh and the coastal transmission lines need to be larger if you are going to transmit all the way to Kansas. Yep I can see all the cooperation from the liberal coasts. Ask them for the email so you have an agreement that this is what it takes to get a fair assessment after your departure. Then take that and leave immediately.
Yep what if he had stated that he forgot them or ala Clinton I cannot recall. The fact that more than one person did not have them is the real problem. Any business (or agency) that trusts the keys to its entire system to only one person fails the beer truck test. Thus needs to be fixed. This was obviously a bad employee who had a intimidating confrontation (by design) and made the wrong choice. Then over zealous bureaucrats got stupid. Sadly only one of the people that were acting like children is in jail.
So you are saying that in the past there has been rapid swings in extremes in temperature and this validates the green madness? How does that work? Seems we have had a run up of temperatures which peaked to years ago and are now declining, yet this time no swing will occur due to global warming ???? Do these great models that predict global warming accurately predict the great frost and little ice age while containing no data from those times?
Sorry things have been warmer but I will continue to deny the theories of the green madness crowd as they generally seem to contain bad science in the name of fund raising and government control.

So what is the rate of false positives? Tests are not 100% accurate despite what the creator would like to put forth.
As was illustrated when people found mistakes in NASA data about a year ago. This resulted in the calculations being fixed, how is that bad?
