No, due to air resistance, the bubble will fall at less than the natural free-fall rate so you would still end up sitting on the bottom of the falling bubble. Somewhat lighter though.
No, although, depending on what interpretation of quantum mechanics you subscribe too, you can think of certain quantum effects as immediate action at a distance, there is no way to actually send information via these effects.
Black holes were first predicted in 1783 by a geologist named John Mitchell.
All that was needed to predict something odd would happen at this mass was the concept of escape velocity and that light had a velocity, both of which have been known for quite some time.

I have been working with authors of out of print technichal books on functional programming and type theory to get the books published via print-on-demand services. It is absolutly great for academic interest books which a traditional publisher will refuse to carry or charge an obscene amount for because of the limited demand.
This is why you create and edit 'user.js' rather than prefs.js, the settings in user.js are automatically integrated into prefs.js on startup, and since it only contains your changes, it is easier to keep track of what you did.
I tend to keep my user.js in ~/etc/user.js and create symlinks to it from all my mozilla user directories, it also makes it easy to share preferences between computers.
Note that one of the stepping stones in pursuing GTD is to be able to commit ideas to paper or computer or some other nonvolatile store as soon as they occur to you. wherever you are. Get ideas out of your head.
If you, like me, don't like speaking out loud into voice recorders in random places or don't always have your PDA with you, being able to take notes quickly is a very useful skill. Using handywrite, you can write orders of magnitude faster, without interrupting your thought proccesses trying to remember how to spell words or waiting for your hand to catch up to your mind.
Not for everyone, but if you want a way to record your thoughts anywhere and have been searching for a better way, it is a very useful skill.
Sorry if the conection to 'getting things done' was unclear from my previous post.
Handywrite is a shorthand system based on the gregg system, but is unambiguously readable. This lets you use it for general notetaking without later transcription to english words. Recommended. It can be learned quite quickly.
That does not answer the question, in order for public key to work, you STILL need a trusted (but not secret as in symmetric encryption) piece of info. the public key of who you want to talk to. Without foreknowledge of that, you cannot be sure whomever is talking to you is who they claim to be. The session will still be quite secure, but it could be with a bad guy.
the key distribution problem is a very interesting one. there are various solutions. a shared secret like an SSID still leaves you open to man-in-the-middle attacks. I too am curious how 802.11i solves this, as it really is the more likely place for a protocol to fail.
maxima.sf.net is a truely awesome symbolic algebra program, it is derived from one of the first ever 'modern' computer algebra systems and was recently made open source.
If it could be put into a calculator, that would rock.
Umm. no. Different people like different things, I have obtained a fair number of linux converts who knew nothing about unix, but saw me typing commands at the computer and wanted to do the same. GUI has in no way 'won', they were never really in competition.
dear golly. there is NO CHANCE of the black holes being produced being a danger to anything for a number of reasons.
1. many more, much much larger (but still very small) black holes are constantly being created in our atmosphere by cosmic rays. these have not swallowed the earth. the energy of the collisions we can create is still insignifigant compared to what occurs naturally.
2. black holes do not attract matter because they are black holes. they attract due to gravity, just like planets, stars and all other matter. we are creating black holes the size of subatomic particles. A black hole the size of a proton has exactly the same gravitational pull as a proton. A protons gravitational pull is not going to cause any effect on anything. remember gravity is the weakest force that exists. by a whole lot. gravity is not amplified because it is eminating from a singularity rather than a particle.
mars has lots of iron oxide. the same thing as rusty iron, which is red. a lot of it is in the form of very very fine dust, much finer than you would find on earth and it gets blown into the air, making the sky red too.
A credit rejected letter is an identity theifs DREAM! by law, credit rejection letters contain not only pertinent stuff like your social security number, but they must give you a copy of your credit report if asked to show why you were denied. Once a thief gets your credit report it is all over. the credit report has every bank account and credit card number you own. as well as a lot of other personal info.
people keep throwing around the word 'class action' but a class action suit is usually in favor of the defendent. if SCO is being sued by a ton of people there is nothing they would like more than to wrap them all up with a single class action suit. By joining a class action suit you give up your right to sue for individual damages.
so NO CLASS ACTION against SCO. make them work, just file a normal civil suit. No one wins in a class action except SCO (for settling with just a slap on the wrist) and the lawers who get to charge premium rates and take their share from the top of the settlement. If asked to join a class action suit, DON'T! just file independently.
no. A class action lawsuit would be GOOD for SCO. it means they only have to win once then no-one has the right to sue or complain again. lots of little suits would be better. no one wants to do a class action lawsuit, they are forced into doing one when a company consolodates the lawsuits against it.
No class action. sue SCO independently.

um. actually X selections are more powerful than other systems at allowing cut-n-paste and drag-n-drop of non-text. X selections let the pastee and paster negotiate on a prefered file format based on what they have to offer and what they can accept.
Just because people who write apps for X don't seem to use this functionality, don't blame X11. if the app writers are too lazy to use the power of X selections, I don't see why they would suddenly for some new system.
gah. PDF is an open standard with many free implementations. just because it originated in a company it does not mean it is not free. It is actually a very nice format.
