That's too bad. I was talking to my gf the other day about engagement rings, and how many months of salary you're "supposed" to spend on them. Her comment? "That's like, 3 or 4 cars!":)
I'm Netware from back in the 3.x days, and I had really gotten discouraged by the direction the company was taking. I'm starting to get excited again, and I'm glad it's Novell. They've made a lot of mistakes in the past, hopefully they've learned their lessons. I think it's *good* they're just now starting to take some action. I think there's been a lot going on behind the scenes, and they've just been taking it slow to make sure they do it right & don't blow it.
If God didn't want us to look at titties, he wouldn't have given them to us. So, if you *don't* look at titties, you're rejecting a gift from God. Ungrateful heathens:)
People need only remember the shootings that took place over new years eve last year.
Not to troll, but here in the US, they tell us that the UK doesn't have gun crime, because guns are illegal to own there. I didn't hear anything about shootings. Maybe the story "wasn't important enough"/censored:)
In the old days you made cassettes of your CDs and LPs and gave copies to your friends. This is illegal (at least in the UK) but the record companies did nothing, apart from that "Home Taping Is Killing Music" logo.
My favorite was a tape, either Dead Kennedys or Circle Jerks, that had one side completely blank. "Home Taping Is Killing The Music Industry. We Left This Side Blank To Help."
I once thought my Latin teacher was going to cut someone's balls off. She stopped just shy of that, although barely.
There's something strangely comforting about seeing a little old lady reduce the star quarterback to tears. Once word of that got around, you'd have thought she cut his balls off...
I think the amount of time Novell's taking on this is a good sign. It indicates they've thought long & hard about the best directions to take, and done their best not to screw this one up. I think this is probably their last chance to be tha shiznit again, and they know it, too.
(note: I'm not saying Netware is dead/dying, I'm saying they'll cease to make a difference in the grand scheme of things)
I knew it would eventually happen when I saw they went with xserver for a gui in nw5. I'd almost say they took way too long, but maybe not. Hopefully they sat back, looked at Linux & open source, and came up with a good plan for implementation. In the businesses that I do work for (5-25 users), Netware holds a lot of weight. They gave up their Netware servers reluctantly, and would love any excuse to go back. Heck, I'm even getting excited about it, and I haven't cared much for Netware since the 4.x days.
I've been on the internet for over 10 years, and I recently got my first a/s/l playing Yahoo pool. I found myself in the enviable position of telling a 14yo girl that I wasn't interested, being a 32yo guy, and that she was giving way too much info out to a self-admitted old guy who wasn't interested. I really felt like this chick was *trying* to get some creep stalking/abducting her.
Luckily the only reason I was playing Yahoo pool in the first place was because my 7yo daughter wanted to watch. I was able to use that as an example of what *not* to do to try & stay safe on the net.
Heck, the thought of buying something from the legitimate account of the person who stole 150 dollars from me just so I could request the phone number from ebay and do a reverse look-up had crossed my mind. But even if I did get his home address, what would I do with it then? Show up on his doorstep with a baseball bat?
Um, yeah. I know where I come from, $150 is kneecap money. The likelihood of repeat fraud goes way down.
Depending on how old they are, you could also tell mommy & daddy, which usually garners acceptable results.
Except it's *not* a good PSU. I bought a CompUSA PSU & had a bunch of random problems, a basically flaky PC. Replaced the PSU w/ an Antec & it's been rock-solid since.
I was in the same spot, although I think mine was $50. They couldn't have been too worried about them not selling, they were stacked up all over the damn place.
I wouldn't have minded if it was a decent PSU. I kept having random problems with that PC until I replaced the PSU w/ an Antec.
My high-school buddy moved away, and recently I've started doing support for his parents, since I live so much closer (things get fixed sooner than Thanksgiving or Christmas). Half the time it's an upgrade or replacement for a failing part. When I get the order, there's often two of everything. I get new hardware I couldn't ordinarily afford & he doesn't have to drive 8+ hrs. to do the work. When his "account" gets low, I remind him what a pain in the ass it is & his account gets "renewed" in the next shipment. Works well for us both:)
I had almost resisted the urge to visit the wonkette site until you mentioned she talks about sex. Gee, thanks...

I've also learned it's a good idea to keep a skateboard in the trunk, just in case :)
Well, if you want a hot rod, there is. Pick a frame, body, engine & transmission, bolt it all together, voila!
I've often thought that when I lose my job here, I'd go into automotive repair.
:(
You need more pics of that stude, though. I flipped through all 5 pages of your gallery & there's only the one
I've suspected that some spam installs spyware. No proof, but it seems logical.
Well, he *did* name his program "Lose Weight the (not so) Easy Way"...
You're so cool, I've never heard of any of those bands.
Gravy Train!!!

I wonder if they could somehow direct the wifi signals so you can only pick them up in certain areas, such as a parking lot facing the billboard.
I'd think those spots would be worth much more money...

Here goes my karma, but that was a good joke.
:)
Sorry, couldn't resist, whore that I am

I've used the chat-based help desk at RR a few times, and it's always been handy. Personally, I think that's more useful than a salesperson.
Can we get pictures? :)
