If only Fedora would release a version that includes the bug-fix to fully support SATA drives I'd be happy. Core 3 won't install on my PC as it doesn't like my SATA controller & drive. It times out waiting for the drive during installation, so the partitioning application doesn't see any drives and won't continue. This is a major flaw that wasn't in Core 2, but was introduce in Core 3. A major oversight that has left a lot of people really annoyed.
Why? Because decent spec Macs are too damned expensive. Jobs could grab the market by the goolies, if he just dropped the price of his computers across the board. The Mac Mini helps, but it's woeful spec leaves a lot to be desired.
Just install Linux dammit - don't buy this crap! Why should they be fed crippled software because they don't have the money to buy the full OS. I think it's insulting.
This is an easy one. These first peoples in America that they are claiming, are simply travellers from way in the future. They travelled back in time to meet the first peoples in America to make a film.
Thankyou Mr Harrison for a wonderful Viking story!
If it runs Windows, no I won't trust it! Heck I don't even trust it to get me to my destination now when I'm driving, let alone if a computer were driving it for me.
But it's ok, as the Slashdot story states that Stallman wasn't killed. It's a sad world when a story tells me who wasn't killed and not who was (killed or injured). It's obvious that the poster thinks Stallman living is more important than someone dying. Shame on you!

I still use my old P2-350 + 64Mb + 6Gb PC as a Linux firewall and gateway. It works incredibly well - it never crashes and performance is definitely acceptable, even through Cable. I also use Apache on it to develop PHP scripts from time to time.
Three years ago, I used this PC to serve my website; about 10Gb a month with no problems.
I keep reading people recommending ATI's cards, for various reasons (price, performance etc.) but ATI's support for Linux sucks. I'm almost on the verge of upgrading my PC and so tempted to go ATI, but then I remind myself how crappy their Linux support is and head straight back to look at NVidia's cards.
Best Buy can kiss my arse. I received the worst possible customer service from them, the one and only time I went in to buy a keyboard. So I blacklisted them accordingly and never went back. Having read this, well, there's nothing more I can do after blacklisting them.
or who buys only during big sales
If you're going to complain about people only buying during sales, then don't have big fucking sales! Is that so hard to understand?
I think it's funny how Microsoft have managed to steal into another market, the firewall market, with no complaints. Yes, their firewall may be poor compared to others, but how many people will continue to use it, rather than buy or download another one because they don't need to? I fear another war coming on - the firewall war! If not, why not?!

So does this mean I can install OSX on qemu under Linux or Windows?
This should be a raving success. I mean, look at how successful we are at warming up the Earth!
Troll? Hell yeah!

I don't have time to do "other stuff". I'm too busy convincing my boss that I don't need to work overtime and weekends.
You need the aspell-devel package installed.

It'll still be down to money. If you can't afford to "license" existing patents from Microsoft and friends, you'll be screwed.
How about doing what the rest of us do and get an education. If there are no jobs as a hacker, then become a qualified software programmer!

Freshmeat is that you?
I hope they improved the renderer, as it used to have poor performance and poor visual quality.
I just want to know when they'll open source the Quake3 engine!
I give him 2 months before the project dies. I think he is just a user ranting, and I saw nothing to convince me that anything useful will be done.
Pffft! I remember ASCII golf on some ancient machine at a friend's place. Mono ASCII video!

Yes but does it support loadable and selectable Soundfonts with my SBLive! Value?
Eunuchs - the operating system. Once it goes down, you can't get it up again.
http://www.lycoris.org may be the answer (once the next version is released this month.)

Which lunatic thought of that?

I just can't suffer the GTK1, non-aliased fonts.
