Zimbabwe barely has food enough to feed it's populance, who number such a small amount ?
Well, I don't know what they are using the software for - possibly to figure out how to share 1 bag of maize between 5000 people ?
South Africa maybe definately, but please, Zimbabwe ?
Really, the Zim Dollar exchange is Z$15 000 to a US dollar ! If they are pirating software, it's because a copy of windows would cost them the equivalent of 20 years salary !
I used to swear by Gnome on slackware, now I just swear at it.
KDE 3.4 was a total cinch to install from source on slackware 10.1 - download about 100meg of packages, extract, make a quick bash script to compile and leave for a few hours - done ! Or you can use Konstruct.
I tried compiling the latest version of gnome, gave up and tried dropline. Dropline runs like an absolute dog on my hardware setup, whereas KDE 3.4 runs smooth. It also took almost as long to install dropline as it did to compile KDE 3.4
I can't blame Pat for deciding to Gnome - it's much better for a distribution to focus on a single core desktop. After all, if you want to install Gnome, you can.
I also find that Mouse Trap is a great way to pass the time.
Other options are the classic Cluedo, or if you really want a blast the exciting Trivial Pursuit is always a crowd pleaser.
Personally, sometimes I find many of the above games just a little over complicated and confusing and tend to stick with the all time family favourite, Tiddlywinks !
Hooo Boy, there's a bucket load of fun to be had with those bright little plastic disks !
I'd have fired the whiny little prick too - anyone who leaves a party with FREE drinks and booze because it's a "little bit like a frat party" deserves to have thier ass fired !
That's a very unconvincing Bill Gates being interviewed. He's really not on the ball and seems uncomfortably pre-occupied. He said little to nothing of import and was phased by the longhorn probe...
Reading through the predictable series of replies - and having often replied in type myself (excuse the pun) - I find it scary the lack of knowledge and the assumptions made.
I'll donate $100 to send some soul who posts here over to China to see for themselves.
Oh my God, that was so lame, it scared me.
And now I feel really old - I saw the first bloody movie when I was the age of some of those kids there.
We also queued up outside the cinema, about 5 of us, in Bangor, England.
Nobody had a movie camera. Nobody was dressed up. It was raining.
The movie was brilliant.

Surely this is a mistake in the article ?
... hilarous er, not.
... er, not.
... er, yes.
Brilliant
You had to be there
At a pinch I'm sure you could use some sort of screen / audio grabbing software as an initial "solution"
Your totally right anyway - it'll be cracked soon enough.
After watching 5 minutes of the video and seeing Balmer market, I couldn't watch anymore.
Get to the point, asshole !
I've got a fan in my PSU, over my GPU, my CPU.
It already sounds like a bloody helicopter and now you want me to spend 10cents making it even louder !
Wow !
If so, Slashdot is indeed going down the tubes !
... outsourcing to new heights !

The shuttle is old news and old tech and expensive tech.
3 drinks in two hours, are you crazy !
More like 30 drinks in two hours and then driving home at 1mph !
I'd have fired the whiny little prick too - anyone who leaves a party with FREE drinks and booze because it's a "little bit like a frat party" deserves to have thier ass fired !
Way to go Google !
Damn party p00pers !

Hey, the poor guy has been hammered left right and center for years - can you blame him for being a bit troubled !
I bet he draws penguins and apples and little tiny bugs and all sorts of odd things when he's bored !
That's a very unconvincing Bill Gates being interviewed. He's really not on the ball and seems uncomfortably pre-occupied. He said little to nothing of import and was phased by the longhorn probe ...
Well, it sure doesn't make my socks smell like firefox does, so there's a good start !
Yum !

No "based on heresay" comments.
To Actually GO THERE and report back.

I thought that last line said "extensive testing done before Lunch"
Nobody gives a damn about them anymore, redundant expensive education. There's far too many lawyers around and nobody really wants to be a doctor.
"Ivy League" = Fucking rich, so who cares either way ?
Hole more like ...
Sometimes nostalgia is crap.
Tron was a really sh1te movie with a few nifty ideas - that was it. It was a sign of it's times, but was in no ways "revolutionary" - it was lame.
