Ok, I lie, I'm an ugly troll with an ugly biege box that makes TONS of noise and has cost me an arm and a leg over the last 2 years. (I now type with one hand and have a special chair so I don't fall off it)
That shiny little anodised alumium something-or-other-pound square lump that looks like,er, a square metal lump is just so sexy !
I wan't one !
But wait, I'm too sexy for a mac, to sexy for a mac, to have a real mac attack !

I'm off tommorrow morning with laptop and camera into the "great outdoors" and would love nothing more than to be connected while out there.
The simple fact is, if you want to leave your "gear" behind, heck, do it ! - nobody is forcing you to hook onto the net in the middle-of-nowhere and so long as those that do being connected are polite and discreet, what's the problem ?
I'm hugely impressed with TheOpenCD - I was visiting go-opensource.org and filled in a form saying I'd like a copy.
Two weeks later, one arrived at my P.O.Box - I never expected it and in fact completely forgot I'd asked for one. Comes with a great CD case and the silk screen print job on the CD is highly professional - a lot better than the Half-Life 2 CD's that I bought from those damn corporate pirates...;)
So far, my Mozilla T-shirt doesn't have any holes in it and it's thanks to me, one of the 732 141 programming contributors to the mozilla project, Freddy Pigglybits got a coke and a burger !
Last thing I remembered, I was reading the inner sleeve of my Madness 7 album which said "Home Taping is Killing Music" while recording it to cassette tape for my buddy.

This is something that the USA just does so much better than anything else - well done guys.
The simple answer is they aren't always portrayed in that light, you are just asuming that slashdot readers are the majority.

Great stuff.
What the hell is informative about this parent post ?
I'd love to know - the person who wrote it is a clueless moron.
I can't believe how damn clueless some people are regarding technology like Flash.
Everyone judges the damn content on freakin' banner adverts, instead of having a deeper look into how incredibly powerful it is.
Pffft.
... Or something equally as useful as this story.

So the USA suck at math currently - newsworthy ? - er, no

Well, he's been growing that wonder for 200 years at least !
Cool, I can fabricate hundreds of gabe newell models and due to thier weakness and "second hand" nature, STEAM them into oblivion !!
Muuuuhahahah - Mooooohahahahha !

Continued market penetration is what should be the main focus now Firefox 1 is out - and of course, as we're seeing, it certainly is.
If Firefox can reach the 10% threshold, it should snowball from there.
I'm personally converting everyone I know - usually against thier will - to switch to Firefox.
With a 10% + market share, it'll be a major boost for Open Source !
Just checking...

Time Warp ...
Hey, wow, what am I doing here !
Last thing I remembered, I was reading the inner sleeve of my Madness 7 album which said "Home Taping is Killing Music" while recording it to cassette tape for my buddy.
Now it's 20 years later and Music isn't dead !
Arghgh ! - what's going on !
How many times do we have to hear this obvious statistic ?
Bottom line, the music industry pushes out a pile of crap for the most part and it ALWAYS has - it's just these days, they are reaching critical mass.
The major fault here is the release of an album with ONE popular song on, the rest being total FLUFF.
Consumers are not stupid - well, not that stupid anyway !
