Relax. KDE4 is shaping up just fine. Even now, which is yet not complete and feature-full,
is years ahead, in terms of functionality, compared to KDE3. Granted, the KDE 4.0 was
a huge marketing mistake which still most KDE people haven't admitted. But I prefer to
put most of the blame to distributors, who are after all responsible for the packages they choose
to include in their distro.
Plus I am suspecting that most distributors like Novell and Red Hat are biting their lips
now that they see the huge advantages of KDE4, since they invested their time and money on a
stagnating technology with no future(GNOME).
Not to repeat what others above me have already stated but I want to add another angle on this subject.
Recently I just bought OReilly's Learning Python 3d. Well it is fine that I have it and can take it with me
when I travel, but the thing is I want it also on my computer. So I downloaded yesterday the *illegal* version(pdf).
Numerous times has happened of course the exact opposite, e.g. first downloading the illegal version and then actually buying it.
This applies to Music, etc...
On a side note check out the django online book. Be aware that although it is
available on-line the printed version
was at first sold out.
Nevertheless, somehow I find it strange that MS is going to benefit from that. Everyone says what a great
experience is SLED, especially for the enterprise users. In the (not so)long run it benefits Linux as a whole.
I say Kudos to Novell and SuSE.
Either way, my dreams include fights, wars, sexual encounters... that just simply doesn't apply to my life
True for many of us.
It also has the reverse effect of pineapple juice, if you catch my drift
Come again?
No they still don't provide support for the Greek language(I am from Greece).
And of course I m kidding.
BTW in Greece what you call "greek", we call turkish(actually Ottomanian)
Obviously you didn't know more than... 2?
Professionally and for my pleasure I still choose anything Novell.
All the suse fans I knew are still suse fans and no, they are not
drinking the Ubuntu kool-aid. Everything else you say is typical
slashdot talk of someone who doesn't know how business works and
typically lives in a basement. So please don't do it.
cheers and Happy a new year!!!
Information thieves, it seems, are just one step ahead of IT security.
Or maybe the people who are supposed to guard the data are three steps behind in motivation.
People are not making themselves googlable. At least not by choice. But if you are a doctor, an engineer or anything actually, your name may very well end up in a web site. Also, at least in my country(Greece) when you give your exams in order to be accepted in a University(public), your name is listed on a specific govt site. If you pass, that is. I can think many other reasons too, but I'm sure someone else will be more willing to cite them.
Malware doesn't necessarily have to do with binary compatibility, rather with the places "key" configuration files
and commands reside. Taking into consideration that most Linux distros have already different ways of setting up
key aspects of the OS(thus making malware difficult to be cross-distro), I could most definitelyassume that your point
about BSD is not valid. And no I don't use BSD.
That's why in Linux we have stayed clean from viruses. It is very hard for them to spread, not that it is
impossible to write one. Heck, I can't even write a decent shell script that is cross distro. Maybe to support
a couple of them, but all? No way.
errr... the point of reading the code(see OSS) is to not have secrets from the end users. In this case
it has nothing to do with how secure the software is. So your point... was????
I love Konqueror. But to be honest if I want to make sure I can access all the features of a site I have to use firefox.
And to firefox defense, although it is bloated as hell... it is for a reason(I think)- it tries to understand all the misused
and badly written HTML that exists out there.
XHTML to the rescue???
Dude you are not on acid. This gadget is a dream come true(or heading that way). People bash this product and
and praise the iSuckPhone. The world's gone mad. People like these get +5 insightful.
Whatever...
Cheers
The moderators are going crazy as I see. If this is not flamebait/troll I don't know what it is.
I 've never used windows at work, actually I 've banned it. But that doesn't mean other IT professionals don't need it.
Please keep your issues at home.

Welcome to openSUSE 11.1 - Kernel \r (\l).
Damn! I just got used to the term cloud. Now,
are we talking about... "floating clouds"? My head will explode!!
So let Novell or Redhat buy them ...
step 1) Buy Sun
step 2) GPL DTrace, ZFS, other cool tech..
step 3) Profit!!!!
Don't they watch cartoons? They just have to smack the patient really hard on the top of his head.
Suddenly he regains his memories. Duh!

An interesting presentation in all platforms is here

OK so now all we have to do is to remove the salty taste from the sperm and we're all set! :)

...of cheesy ads and the coke was not 6$Dude who cares about coke. I have to shell out 7.5 euros(11.1 US Dollars) to watch a movie in these places
I don't have money for a coke!
From one of the last episodes of southpark. It's called "Guitar Queer-oh". It makes fun of "guitar hero" of course.
..maybe "The Romantics" are on "Heroine Hero" and have lost touch with the reality.

Yeah and can you access ALL THOSE beautiful books published 600 hundred years ago? Don't tell me they are out of print!! Oh noes!!!
Robust: at worst, they fall apart after 20 years or two toddlers. You don't read books, do you? Bring me a book from your bookcase and let's check it out.
Oh and while you are at it, spill on it a couple drops of... coffe/water/whatever.
Reliable: the words don't dissapear if it gets too hot/cold/wet/dry or an EMP event occurs.Let me ask again... do you own any book?
Portable: they are more pocket sized than Kindle. So you haven't even SEEN it!!! Still you get insightful. Hmmmmm
Batteries not included: because you don't need any. What???? You didn't even hear the specs?? Or the accessories that will follow??(solar batteries etc)
High contrast: higher even than e-ink.Really??? Because I haven't seen any book glowing in the dark, have you?
With kindle you can read day and night with no flashlight/lamp/whatever.
Light weight: unless you get the hard-back edition. You really need someone to lend you TCP/IP unleashed(SAMS), or ANY OTHER SERIOUS BOOK
Accessible: they don't require a network-connection, so they work all over the world. It doesn't require network access either, its just an option. And as an option I give you a second name, I dub you "Troll"
Bye
Oh come one... it's not tacky!!! Maybe unintuitive, or too simple, or ... retro? But not tacky!!!
