Microsoft recently released an update to address this with the disk clean up utility. It has come in handy on both servers and workstations.

I would think this is because most people who own the cars having the problems are over 50. They tend to be more expensive and not exactly play to the younger crowd.
I use gamespot.com and they give out scores of 1, 2, and 3 a lot. Plus a lot of average scores for average games. Since '96 I've found them to be accurate.
I think you're doing two things: 1.) Being dramatic; 2.) Applying your one experience to an entire system. I went to public school, thought it was great. I have relatives of all grades in public school now, and they're doing wonderfully. I certainly wouldn't "weep for this generation of public school children".
Our company bought 500 of them for a, now failed, project. I was really impressed. We got to play around with the Enterprise, Personal, and Basic. They work well with virtualized applications too. Virtualize that VPN client, put it on the stick, and you're good to go.
By the way if anyone wants some for CHEAP, we've got a few:)
Just wondering why the wide blanket over a musical genre. Was it just to modded up or do you believe that? I find it hard to believe that a musical genre that gave a voice to a generation and people could all be "crap".
Of course we would. We had 8 years of evidence that they ran the most corrupt administration of all time. This is early on for Obama, if it becomes a theme, then I suspect we'll be saying it's all Obama's fault.
"No, it doesn't. But, the GP's point is correct: if this had been a member of Bush's administration, this article would already have 500 comments of wailing about how it was Bush's fault, Cheney's fault, and the fault of neo-cons, the Illuminati, FBI, CIA, RIAA, MPAA, etc....
Can you say "partisan"? I knew you could."
I started at my current company two years ago. They had transformer names. The learning curve was a few months. Some made sense. Postal was the mail server and Rewind was the backup server. But Hound and Mirage were the DNS servers. We now do functional names, mostly for the outside consultants, makes things easier.
I would disagree that Friends is full of successful characters. For much of the show Joey is a bad, unemployed actor. Chandler is so unknown at work that his coworkers call him by the wrong name. Rachel went through an assortment of jobs and was fired often. And while Ross was a professional success, he was a social loser. Monica is the one character that is a success in most aspects of her life, but I'm sure that's to highlight the other characters' flaws. And yes, I'm surprised I just broke Friends down to that degree.
I don't understand why you say this. Slashdot has always been more about the comments and community than the article itself. I got next to nothing from the article, but it was a jumping off point to be reminded of Monty Python's Funniest Joke in the World and I learned about several other doomsday devices I had never heard of. Yeah Slashdot!
Isn't the over all point more of a social concern rather than math and economics? When the rich person gets taxed for $59 that's not taking away from the things one needs to survive. However, the $3 the poor person is asked to pay probably is. My wife and I are well off and have no problem paying more in taxes. We would still be able to pay or bills and save. There is a point at which we could be taxed too much, but we are much farther away from it than the poor.
I tried the stuff, didn't work. It was pretty plain that I signed up for auto payment when I got the free sample. When it didn't work all I had to do was send an e-mail requesting to cancel. I received a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours. No biggie.
Can you tell me more about getting this HD content for free or pay? I have no problem paying $5 to rent a movie in HD or $20 to buy one w/o the investment of new hardware. I assume I'd just need a PC capable of 1080p out over HDMI to my TV.

I wouldn't call the first one a plot hole, maybe a continuation problem. As for who brought Rachael and Harvey to be blown up, it was the dirty cops. Specifically the lady cop, Ramirez.
I didn't say it was efficient or maintenance free. And 10 years ROI? That's business timeline not personal. Even if that weren't the case let's take this for example. I pay $100/month for heat now. If someone told me, that I could spend $1200 and not pay for heat ever again. Guess what? I couldn't do it cause I don't have $1200 or the means to get $1200. Doesn't matter what the ROI is.
My parents heat with fuel oil. I was floored when they told me how much it cost to fill up the tank. And they have to do it twice each winter! They really don't have any other options. No natural gas or propane lines are run to their house. I asked them about a pig tank, but that costs money to get the pig tank and convert or buy a new furnance. Also a retro fit to electric would cost money, and it would still be coming from a coal powered plant. So don't look for them to change anytime soon unless electricity is so cheap and clean the ROI makes sense, or until something is government subsidized.
that this is one of the worst interviews ever? I look for one of two things from Slashdot Interviews: 1.) If I know nothing, I look for a good introduction to the topic. 2.) If I know something, I look to further my understanding of the topic. I don't know anything about the movie industry and I still don't, and judging from the comments I would say those who do didn't learn anything new.
"Worse off, the grade book program was accessible from any networked machine (thanks Novell)" Why blame Novell? I'm pretty sure they had security on the Novell network I've worked on.

"3d will always remain a cute gimmick..." You should never speak in absolutes.

Microsoft just did something similar. Showing a variety of people in various countries and job roles saying, "I'm Vista."

"Say what you want about Steve Jobs. To me the big difference is Steve Jobs has _taste_." I agree, kinda like chicken.
I don't think he was saying that UNIX came about because of Microsoft. He was saying he wouldn't have switched to UNIX if Microsoft wasn't so crappy.

It's still funny, it's still not mean spirited, you're still stuffy.
