    I occasionally go to movies and leave my kids with a babysitter. She has my number and I expect a call if something really bad comes up that she needs to deal with (after she dials 911) and the kids have my number too. If the movie theater were to deliberately cause me to miss such a call I would sue their ass regardless of whatever legal crap they posted in their "conditions of ticket sale" fine print.
    I'm sure I'm not alone.

    No, we shouldn't kill people because we're perfectly capable of keeping them locked up indefinitely. If we were some tinpot nation with no means to do so then execution or outsourcing the incarceration would be more of a necessity, but we're not, we're the most powerful nation on earth, so there's no need. I personally don't believe in capital punishment as a deterrent (it's not why I choose not to kill people at least) and so that really only leaves revenge. Maybe I'd think about it differently if someone killed my kids, but it does not seem like a good enough reason to keep execution on the books.

    You wouldn't leak it ahead of checking it though, maybe not even after checking it. You'll know they've found life when they say nothing for a while.

    I believe that in some jurisdictions "No Trespassing" simply means "no right to enter in order to do anything mischievous", not that there is no right to enter at all. Of course "Trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again" means the same everywhere.

    Not every router is used solely for the internet. Also, they don;t have to report to China, they just have to be deployed into a critical network and then suddenly stop working when china wants them to. Finally, if they're going to be sneaky, who's to say the software image they provide is made out of the source code they provide ? I don't see them providing the means to compile the source code to an image.

    As a piece of furniture in an office I see standing desks now as the in-coming thing and I would imagine that they too will be defunct in a few years as offices re-arrange to make better use of the space and people find ways to work at home without having a dedicated office room. It's the desk that's days are numbered.

    I can see the office of the future full of la-z-boys and cup holders.
