"It's over Q! I want you out of my life! You're arrogant, you're overbearing, and you think you know everything!" "But... I do know everything." "That makes it even worse."
About 2 years ago, my university invited a micorosoft promoter to talk about Vista. The majority of the time he talked about the security. He started with a comparison between XP and Linux. Who ran root as standard in XP and who ran root standard in Linux. He said that XP security sucked since it was too easy(and convenient) to run as standard root. After that he claimed that Vista had improved security considerably and that we should all download it(we have a deal with MS at our university).
I seriously doubt that this is a unique form of presentation regarding OS promotion.
Nothing prevents the "iron law of olichargy", so I ask: Why bother? Why don't you create a olichargy from the start and try to control it? Why let an egalitarian society slip into an unfair olichargy rather than having a well structured one from the beginning?
PAlso note that the person who wrote this is a Slashdot type A person.
A Slashdot type A person is a libertarian atheist who hates Microsoft and loves Linux to death. He has a beowolf cluster of pc's running Linux and also a private pc running a quadruple boot Debian/Ubuntu/Redhat/Gentoo. At first Suse was installed but after the Novell deal he threw it off. He also has 3 iPods, including one from the first generation. They also worship Apple in their basement and dream of a girlfriend.
So don't expect to get any unbiased information about Microsoft from them.
Also, don't ask him for legal advice. They simple rant about unfair laws and how big government is screwing everbody with their privacy-invading gadgets.
Revolution is a nasty and bloody business that only needs to be used as a last resort. Simply vote out the old parties and vote in new parties. If that doesn't happen people are so lazy tata even a revolution won't help.
What is free speech if there are repercussions when you say something other people don't like. It doesn't matter if the government censors me or if a company or organisation censors me. If I get censored, I do not have (truly) free speech.
Reminds me of a certain Star Trek episode:
"It's over Q! I want you out of my life! You're arrogant, you're overbearing, and you think you know everything!"
"But... I do know everything."
"That makes it even worse."
- Vash and Q
And is it a coincidence that 216 has a prime number of prime divisors?
That's easy. Ask what time it is. Wait for long explanation.
Result: It's one hour later!

So what do you do with articles about keyboard layouts?
Well, scientists find excuses for shitty behavior all the time and blame it on genetics. They should at least be kicked in the nuts for it.

Yes, but does it detect nucular weapons?

leges sine moribus vanae
Yes, that's possible but the importance of SUSE is declining. Not some I would like to report to my boss.
So THAT is why I am dreaming about alien world domination!
Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?
Well that, and a million years.
Woah, NPD also the comment number decisions?
Even better: the archive where it's stored gets corrupted. I mean, that happens all the time and is a pretty good defence.
But it has GREAT all night parties!

Politicians ARE practical. It is very practical to line your pockets with money when you have some power.
Ideology is what makes a society better(or worse, depending on your pov).
News for diggers, stuff that nobody cares about.
Yes, drink more kool-aid.
The bribes haven't arrived yet.
That's a false dichotomy. It isn't or or. No I don't want to spend money on a lost war but I also don't want to spend money on someone else's parties.
Glocal Thermal Nuclear War?
What does Babelfish think it is, WOPR?
