    The publication ban was put in place by a JUDGE not the party in power, to PROTECT that persons right to a fair trial. And guess what, it's NOT PERMANENT. geez.

    come on, there are TONS of "computer guys" out there that don't know and an IP address from a subnet mask. Or an IRQ from a port address. But they do know how to do a series of things that might make it work, a reboot, a re-install or a call to someone else.
    Of course this has been my experience in dealing with numerous computer guys, mainly outside of big cities.

    in the sense of being able to scale your solution to meet the demand, google obviously meets this.
    In the sense of running a database on a 32cpu system google does not..

    bluetooh has mac speed of 1mbps, the EDR specifies 3mbps (no device is out for this spec yet).
    It would take a ridiculous amount of time to sync 100mb of changes let a lone multiple gigabytes.

    I would bet money there are more Windows iPod users now then Mac. PCs, for the most part, do not have and do not come with firewire. USB is far more common.
    Plus they get the 19.99 from people who want firewire cables.

    It was a shitty day up until a smile crept across my face as I read the headline. It then turned into a full fledged grin after reading this gem: "What has happened in Alabama is that four companies participated in the training of Devin ... to kill three men," Did it also teach him that no one actually dies, they simply respawn at a hospital or that no matter how many kills you have or explosions you've made when you get busted you get out on bail.     Really, this is wasteful. Everyone has their own opinions/experience. You need to ask yourself the questions not others who have no idea what you currently run, what management would be happy with, etc.
    That being said SuSE and Redhat are the only serious corporate vendors for Linux. Debian is what I use (and migrated the shop to it from RH). It's great if you can get it past management.

    It seems that we've moved from a point where remakes were somewhat common to now, where they are the norm. Like all of the sudden all the world's stories ran out. Of course the truth is more likely that it's safer to make a movie that's been made before. It seems like cheating to me, or maybe the desire to have a successful (not necessarily good) has take over the desire to tell good stories.
    Personally I like to recycle trash, not culture.

    one big difference is up here that personal copy can be given to a friend. i.e. making mix tapes or CDs for friends. not just making a backup for personal use. And on top of that, sharing music on a p2p network was not ruled illegal (under the current copyright system).
