Isn't there a thing called the internet where you could CHECK YOUR FUCKING FACTS?
I noticed you cut out the top part of my comment, I will include it here for you: maybe you should read up on shit you comment on.
so let me get this right. you want me to answer all your questions? How about this: READ THE FUCK UP ON IT. I have to admit # 2 is a real winner. "Just because a Judge is doing their job, is it ok?"
maybe you should read up on shit you comment on. The publication ban was put in place by a JUDGE not the party in power, to PROTECT that persons right to a fair trial. And guess what, it's NOT PERMANENT. geez. And just when the hell were we "more" free?
come on, there are TONS of "computer guys" out there that don't know and an IP address from a subnet mask. Or an IRQ from a port address. But they do know how to do a series of things that might make it work, a reboot, a re-install or a call to someone else. Of course this has been my experience in dealing with numerous computer guys, mainly outside of big cities.
first tell us what scalable is, then point out what could and could not be scalable. in the sense of being able to scale your solution to meet the demand, google obviously meets this. In the sense of running a database on a 32cpu system google does not..
bluetooh has mac speed of 1mbps, the EDR specifies 3mbps (no device is out for this spec yet). It would take a ridiculous amount of time to sync 100mb of changes let a lone multiple gigabytes.
I would bet money there are more Windows iPod users now then Mac. PCs, for the most part, do not have and do not come with firewire. USB is far more common. Plus they get the 19.99 from people who want firewire cables. Geez... this made out to be a big freaking deal.... it's not now microsoft selling products to protect you from their insecure products... that's disturbing
We have potential and a decent history. Until the powers that be decide to pull their thumbs out of their collective asses, and actually articulate in real terms what we stand for and what we are prepared to do, thats all we'll ever have.
but does it still make sense to shit where you eat? even shitting down stream and eating up stream is a simpleton view of the world. Sustainability should be the goal.
It was a shitty day up until a smile crept across my face as I read the headline.
It then turned into a full fledged grin after reading this gem:
"What has happened in Alabama is that four companies participated in the training of Devin... to kill three men,"
Did it also teach him that no one actually dies, they simply respawn at a hospital or that no matter how many kills you have or explosions you've made when you get busted you get out on bail.
Again, Many Thanks
so what's with all the "Support our troops" stuff? It sounds like support our troops is not much more then tying a ribbon around a tree and hoping for the best.... but that's just an observation from a northern neighbour
Really, this is wasteful. Everyone has their own opinions/experience. You need to ask yourself the questions not others who have no idea what you currently run, what management would be happy with, etc. That being said SuSE and Redhat are the only serious corporate vendors for Linux. Debian is what I use (and migrated the shop to it from RH). It's great if you can get it past management.
You're telling me a horribly underfunded, out of data system for teaching students results in students not knowing one of the most basic rights they have? That just sounds crazy.
It seems that we've moved from a point where remakes were somewhat common to now, where they are the norm. Like all of the sudden all the world's stories ran out. Of course the truth is more likely that it's safer to make a movie that's been made before. It seems like cheating to me, or maybe the desire to have a successful (not necessarily good) has take over the desire to tell good stories. Personally I like to recycle trash, not culture.
especially when you consider in Canada they broadcast (i.e. no cable needed) the sopranos (at 11pm). Heck even CityTv broadcasts softcore porn after 12.
one big difference is up here that personal copy can be given to a friend. i.e. making mix tapes or CDs for friends. not just making a backup for personal use. And on top of that, sharing music on a p2p network was not ruled illegal (under the current copyright system).

I smell a troll.
or a gentoo fan boy.
you decide which is worse.

spoken like a true PC user.

well in some countries.
If it is, how can sharing what you recorded be different then passing someone a VHS recording.
Apparently your sarcasm detector is not working properly.
Glavin.
So Redhat is now Linux.
I guess I missed the fucking press release.

It seems like this would be something basic the government would provide to the people who are risking their lives EVERYDAY.
I thought it fit "everywhere". I've got the same os on my powerbook as I do on my Jornada.

why the hell would you ask everyone on slashdot? why not SPEAK TO APPLE?

Since when does TSN = Canada?
don't mistake one station censoring something they don't like for state censorship.
