I'll add to this that if they had not over-inflated the corn prices with the crap they call "high fructose corn syrup" then the prices would not have had as far to fall.
Middle class people are the only people that really care about this issue. They are the ones that get screwed over if taxes go up to pay for health care. Rich people already have plenty of health care and the poorest of people either don't have to pay or have nothing to lose if they can't pay. So, I'd say the middle class folks are the ones most affected by this issue and most, if not all of them, have internet access and some form of camera so they should be quite able to make some sort of reply. I'm not saying this is the best idea but, it's better than most others and should generate some real discussion between politicians and the public.
I too am running a browser based MMO that is free to play. It has no advertising or other annoyances as it's not very popular(and I have no clue how to setup a banner ad in the code) If any of you old timers remember the BBS game TradeWars 2000 then you may want to check it out here http://www.frodoslair.net/blacknova/ I just did a reset on the game so get in now if possible. I plan to open another game server just for developers and testing soon too so email me if you'd like to get more info about when and where the new dev server will be running.
1. Cable companies make money on pay-per-view. This product would provide the same movies for free to subscribers, and would probably cost cable companies themselves to offer it. Given that cable companies are in the business of making money, it would seem like they have every reason to avoid this.
They don't have to offer this channel in the "basic" package so they may be "making money" by selling the higher priced packages to more subscribers.
You have to remember who owns Speakeasy now(BestBuy). Sucks for me too because I'm a Speakeasy customer myself. I did ask about it a few months ago and they didn't have any idea or plans for IPv6 that they could tell me anyway(probably going to switch to Verizon's FiOS partly because of this).
Is there any way to re-flash some of these "home routers"? In my limited experience I've seen a few that could just be re-flashed. What about the big ones like Cisco's? The idea of several million or worse, a billion routers getting tossed in the trash really bothers me so I hope there is some way to recycle or reuse them.
You don't track or block spam by domain names. You use IP addresses and they get blocked at the first attempt to connect to a mail server. We will keep on blocking spam as we have in the past and it won't matter what domain they claim to be coming from.
AMEN Brother!! It's like a car comparison telling me one gets better MPG but, never telling me how many MPG it actually gets.
I don't care if it gets 2 MPG more than the other if they both only get around 5-7 MPG and therefore they both suck./end rant Sorry, I need some sugar:)
I easily use that much a month...sometimes more. I have 4 saltwater reef aquariums(approx 400 gallons total) and 6-8 PC/laptops running 24/7. Then there are the 3 TV's,3 Tivo's, plus all the normal household crap. We've had electrice bills over $500 a month.
I'm hardly an expert but, I have been reading the pdf's a bit from the beginning and so far one glaring problem I see is that the MAC address referred to in the opening statements was the MAC of the cable modem and nobody had the MAC address of the actual computer. I shall keep reading now. I suggest anyone that may be sharing copyrighted material also read it. The more you know the better off you will be if the RIAA ever comes knocking on your door.
Fear of the unknown. The more people know about what to expect in a trial V. RIAA the less they will fear it. Lawyers know all about court and trials but, the average person knows very little about what to expect at a trial of this magnitude and they are probably scared to death of the possibility of being on the wrong side of one of these. Perhaps people will not be so afraid to share music files after seeing this trial and that has to scare the hell out of RIAA. To think that one of these trials could actually lead to more music files being shared instead of less.
Good god man...How long has it been since you used Linux? multiple monitors is a pretty simple thing to setup in most Desktop oriented Distros. Even I can do it:)
It took me all of 10 seconds to find this one http://bandwidthd.sourceforge.net/ Just install it on an old PC and plug a net cable into it from your "router" or "modem" or whatever your ISP gave you. I believe it will just run on your PC as a standalone also. Works with Windows too!
1) It's fun. When you plunk down $20 for you and your significant other to see a movie in a theater, you have no chance of ever getting that money back. But it's worth it to you for the entertainment. Same goes with gambling. You lose money but a lot of people enjoy it. I don't, personally, but many people do.
This can also be a gamble. What if the movie sucks?
I'll add to this that if they had not over-inflated the corn prices with the crap they call "high fructose corn syrup" then the prices would not have had as far to fall.
They did a LOT more than that!
They came inside the house. Sat down at the TV and ordered PPV and drank all the beer!
Bastards!

That is what sub-domains are for: taurus.ford.com etc... this is the like one of the best uses for sub-domains.
As a side note, ICANN is not the only game in town for domain names now.

You never "buy" a domain! we rent them and the yearly fees are what we pay for them.
Not if they did their jobs right :)

Here's a list of IPv6 providers http://www.sixxs.net/wiki/IPv6_Enabled_Service_Providers/
Some of them are in the USA(8 I think) but, only a few offer IPv6 to end customers.

will always follow the past of least resistance
Should be " path of least resistance " ...just so you know for next time.
Shut up Lars! we heard ya already

'Yours' sucks too :)
Try the Preview button sometime.
Yes. You can write on an 8-track. They actually have much more space to write on than a cassette tape.
oh...almost forgot...get off my lawn you kids!
Just call them "Gucci designer LED's" or some such and stupid rich people will buy them by the thousands and the price will drop.

P.S. A big thanks to NYCL for all his hard work!

That sounds like a great idea!
I'd vote for it if we were voting.
