I would say that taxing bread makes more sense than taxing video games. Modern bread is an unhealthy food. Now, if we could tax pasta, and promote eating vegetables, we'd be all set.
Though you are right that simple carbs are even worse.
Of course, I don't support taxing anybody for any of these things.
Uhm, why do you say that? According to Merriam Webster spam is: unsolicited usually commercial E-mail sent to a large number of addresses.
Why can those messages not be 'personalized' and still fit that definition?
Ever notice that spam now-a-days has random strings of characters placed throughout it? That's to make it unique to prevent spam filters from looking the checksum of the message up in a database and marking it as spam.
Now that I think about it, I agree with the original poster. There's too much pagan stuff in Christianity. I say we form a new, non-religion by taking all of our good stuff away from the Christians, and let them keep their worshipping, water splashing, and lowercase T waving to themselves.
However, I must disagree with your statement about Christians forcing their beliefs upon people. That is not true, they have no monopoly on being assholes, and I have met Linux advocates who are just as ignorant.
Besides, someone telling you that you're evil isn't forcing their beliefs on you. Stop being a pussy, and just say to yourself, "I have willpower, and I cannot be led by this". Even more so when that person isn't talking to you directly, but is posting a message in a forum.
G*d, I'm sick of whiners who cannot read opposing viewpoints without feeling that those viewpoints are being 'forced' upon them.
As soon as you are being questioned by the inquisition, then you can talk about having beliefs forced upon you.
Although I agree with you, I think your focus on the VHS aspect is a bit off. The real reason you should feel sorry for him is that he actually watched the Matrix
Well, the way Slashdot works is that people submit stories to the editors, and they put it up if they feel like it. You also have to consider that slashdot is a general news site (science, computer stuff, law, etc). They don't just cover one topic like games.
I am not sure about this particular instance, but RH sometimes patches software before shipping. So what they call 2.3.1 might be stock 2.3.1 w/ the fixes.
I have a thing a against stupid people. Pardon me for having a "thing" against you, but items on vaporware lists fit into a category of things best described as "if you don't know, you won't care".
See, one of the key elements of vaporware is that people have to know about its development/planning for a long time. And if I tell you of a product that I have been waiting for, and that hasn't been released, it won't mean the same thing to you because you just heard about it.
Uhm, yeah, they do say that, what's your point?
I assume that your point was that Apple is being monopolistic in this case. That's complete BS though.

This was moderated as 'funny', but it's the best idea that's been posted!
Yeah, the solution is to tax people. Good plan!
Is it true that your leg is made of wood?
Actually, what's more disgusting is that X10.com is listed on that site as number 15...
:-(
Those pop-ups must be working
and the leaked version was supposed to be old then, and it was playable.
It's going to be a cool game from what I've seen.
'just bitching about taxes'
It's the justification for the tax that people don't like.
Variant: a change or slight difference
But if there are 100 variants of something, but none of them are the same as any other one, they are all unique.
Maybe my logic unit is busted or something, but I don't see where you're coming from.

Half the people on this site sure do act as if they are. 50% of the people on this site will agree with me.
Toy Quest Toy Design Contest
Sounds like the Simpsons episode where the children unknowningly design Funzo
Ach! Don't say His name! :)

Nice troll!
You are a moron, they're charging your $60 dollars for other services as well, one of them just happens to be priority access to the FTP servers.
That also means that you will actually be able to download it, unlike 7 days later when everyone and his brother is trying.
Get a clue
These users need to wake up to the fact that bandwidth costs money, it is by no means free.
They know that, they pay > $40 a month for it with caps

Hahaha, you're just pissed that you're wrong.
He said "accidental" deaths, not murders etc.
Hmmm, I'm running RH 8.0, and I have no problems with running dmesg in gnome-terminal.
[caleb@helga caleb]$ time dmesg
dmesg stuff
real 0m0.102s
user 0m0.002s
sys 0m0.002s
Maybe it's something to do with the drivers for your video hardware (I'm running a radeon 9700 w/ ATI's drivers)
