It doesn't seem that you can really even call Flash video open since the main video component isn't even defined in the "open" spec. What good is that if your main concern of Flash video vs. HTML5 video formats doesn't offer you the video element in the spec?
From what I've heard (grain of salt) it isn't so much a technical issue but a licensing issue. Nintendo made a calculated judgement to release it without DVD playback because the market is sufficiently saturated at this point. I've wondered if a company like Cyberlink would ever bring a DVD program like PowerDVD out to the Wii store. I suppose it might be too niche at this point though.
You ignore that rich people often don't spend, invest or save their money in America. Globalization props up other countries with jobs, strengthened corporations, and banks not America.
Sounds to me like he is married and doesn't like getting looks of disapproval from his loving wife. Perhaps your wife/girlfriend is more liberal on the subject but not everyone is.
That's not how it works. "Socialized medicine" means government funded. It doesn't mean politicians make health decisions. What right-wing talk radio wind-bag gave you that retard idea?
It was a full retard idea. Unfortunately no amount of healthcare can cure that.
I know what you are saying about Apple in that the corporate focus shifted from Apple II to Mac development in the early 80's. I get that because it was a great system (one I still like to tinker with).
However Apple didn't abandon you, you abandoned Apple (for better or worse). They stopped making the Apple II in 1993! I can think of no other home computer that has had that kind of product lifespan. 16 years of sales and support is a ridiculous amount in this industry where products are dumped after every couple years.
Most mines produce much more than you'd think. My father is an electrics foreman for what was the Phelps Dodge mining company. While visiting him in Arizona at their big copper mine he told me about how the mining companies routinely find large pockets of other precious minerals (like gold, silver, etc.) in mines. Everything they pull out of the ground they have to pay taxes for. So what they do is wait for prices to raise before pulling out mineral pockets they find. They basically mark the pockets and rebury them to retrieve later.
The Reg (yeah I know) says it got up to 70,000 feet at approx Mach 5. I'm seeing different numbers depending on the article so YMMV.
That joke murders 'em every time.
The BSA has been banging this drum for years. Same old tune, new numbers.
Mod this guy up!
For better or worse, Paul is to Wintel as Gruber is to Apple.
How about Facebook give us the ability to take our data with us so when everyone realizes what they are doing we can move somewhere else?

Or maybe Apple is planning to do something interesting with their acquisition. Naaaahhhh. Let's just moan and hate.
Won't be long before we're working for the robots instead of the other way around! /cane swinging old man
No. Which makes me a sad panda.
Well someone wants to get in on cheap office furniture. That stuff's expensive!

Redundant? Really? How is this redundant when 4.0 for Mac wasn't mentioned by anyone else? Good job moderating...
I wonder if/when 4.0 will be supported by OS X?

You forgot to burn the bones.

Wow you must feel really good putting it to "the man" like that. By man I mean some random sales schlup. Take that system!

It was a double-negative Godwin, which is of course self revoking. Rather, it shall stand that this thread can never end.
Good thing he didn't invoke a divide by 0 Godwin!
I got an email from some guy in Nigeria who says I've come into some money. This sounds like a great investment!
BTW, I've also got an offer on a bridge in New York.
Last.fm has streamed 275,000 years of audio around the world.
I'd love to know how much of that was stuff like Britney Spears.
I'm curious if the EU will have anything to say about this.
