i hope you can fight crime and shoot lasers out of your eyes because that just seems like a rough thing to live with without some sort of benefit. life just sucks sometimes.
granted there aren't many, but there is phantasy star online for gamecube. nintendo doesn't seem to feel online gaming will be as big and important to their business as sony and microsoft think it will be, so their efforts are a little less dramatic. there are however more games planned and we should hopefully some new and interesting titles soon.
it seems to me they need to create more reasons why a gamertag w/ good stats is important in a similar respect to evercrack et al. if you can create games that hook people so much that they wouldn't dare lose their gamertag then it will become a viable business and worthy of a monthly fee. as it stands with the titles out right now, i really wouldn't care less if i had a new gamertag or not...
i agree to a certain extent however i haven't seen anyone with any hacks that can actively support cheating via a modchip. most modchips i've seen allow for playing out of region dvd's and foreign games, not cheating. that is not to say this won't happen in the future, but as far as i know it hasn't happened yet...
No. Xbox Live was designed to be used with a high-speed Internet connection, which is why every Xbox that ships has a built-in Ethernet port. If you want to have a bad narrowband experience, go buy a PS2.
i dunno, it sounds like they aren't just blocking them from the sounds of that article. read this. and then read this. here's another reason why you might be getting this...
one can only imagine where they spend it all...

yeah i too was annoyed about the basilisk being a snake in the movie. however it is true that historically basilisks were viewed as serpents. my girlfriend tells me it was a snake in the books too, so i guess the blame should be put on rowling (unless you are going by the mythology which i suppose is what was going on there) as lots of kids are going to grow up thinking they are snakes. btw, not all snakes can sense body heat. in fact it is just pit vipers, and some pythons and boas... as to your point about the cat's eyes i'm not quite sure what your point is. for a cat to see in the dark as well as in the light the cat has to look directly on its subject. if you are saying that the mirror effect of the tapetum in its eye would prevent any harm from being done even if it did look the snake in the eye i think that is wrong as well, afterall we are talking about magic. if the curse, spell, charm whatever says that looking in the eye of whatever is going to do something then that is what it is going to do...
i think u have to ammend what you are saying... by better i think you mean have better dev support. i don't think there is much that anyone can argue that the xbox is technically superior to the ps2 (and to some extent the gcn) but they have poor dev support. when microsoft can get in bed with more developers like sony and nintendo have, they will then be able to claim victories...
a hardcore photoshop user might also be getting paid for his work and won't be worried about laying out some money for a good system. in fact that person could probably write it off as it is a business expense.

why i hate it: i find the interface atrocious (on the gimp that is)
of course it doesn't matter much as the drives they are connected to can't keep the data rate up high enough to saturate the line for much more than a split second (burst mode). hard drives are still exponentially slower than the rest of your system and even serial ata won't mean the drive will be much faster, it just means the speed at which the drive can talk to the cpu will be much faster...
last night i was watching the new extended release of lotr's and was thinking about how nice the transfer was. early dvd's had lots of different problems, from crummy software that caused lots of jaggies and bad color representation to poor bitrate. i started to wonder if the reason why the problems with the css encrpytion may have been a compromise due to earlier size limits to the standard. as i understand it (correct me if i'm wrong) data that is encrypted tends to grow in size compared to the original. if you already are pushing the bounds of the data that can fit on a disc then encrypting it with larger keys will increase the size of the data (again, please correct me if i'm totally off my rocker and have no idea what i'm saying... quite possible). so as a compromise a smaller key was chosen (48 bit) as a compromise between size of data and the storage capacity of the disc (at the time). also a smaller key would mean less chip processing power, meaning cheaper chips, meaning less costly machines (meaning a less secure encryption method). anyway, it's a thought...
jaguar's mail usesadaptive latent semantic analysis which if i understand correctly is similar to naive bayesian but not the same. anyone wanna correct me? anyway i understand what you are saying.
p.s. try popfile and see if it does any better for ya. it also has statistics tracking so you can see how well it is doing. it won't be able to ignore domains but you can make a feature request for that though...
...in clients. i'm a big fan of popfile but i'm looking forward to a day when eudora etc. will perhaps use some kind of bayesian or adaptive latent semantic analysis filtering techniques in addition to their current methods.

popfile makes me happy. =)

read this from the xbox.com site:
Can I use ISDN or narrowband?

taiwan wants ms to open there source up so they can find better ways of spamming your system.

popfile removes the bad taste in your mailbox that spam leaves...

if you are curious as to one view of the patent situation you might find this interesting...

dunno if you knew this but imax systems have a limitation to 2 hours for movies, so scenes have to be cut if the movie is longer than that.
