I never went far in Daikatana but liked Deus Ex a lot. I love the Thief series but was quite disappointed when Thief: Deadly Shadows PC version turned out to be just a port of the console version. Levels in Thief and Thief 2 were huge (ie: the Life of the Party level in T2) but in T:DS one had to go from zone to zone. The city was more like a small town rather than the intimidating place it was in the two first games.
Why?
Because Microsoft focuses its resources on market share rather than
making a robust and stable system. Once consumers are locked in they tend to
stick with what they know and buy the upgrades. It's that inertia that MS
banks on when they release repackaged corn-laden turd and call it "Windows
NextGen-2010+++ with Lemon Scent" Seriously: what real ideas have they come up with in the past many years? Everything they make is a bit shinier and fatter than the previous versions but where is the innovation?
From the article: Chianumba said she faxed a copy of her mother's
death certificate to record company officials several days before the
lawsuit was filed. She said she did that in response to a letter from the
company regarding the upcoming legal filing.
She should have let
the whole thing go to court. It would make the RIAA look far sillier when a
computer illiterate dead woman's name is cleared in front of a judge rather than before hand.
Actually I think that there was an Engineering group in the US that had a problem with MS' naming of "engineer" in the MCSE designation. You don't call people "Doctor" that don't have an MD.
Re: your sig. Dr. Spock was a famous pediatricion. Mr. Spock is from Star Trek. Also note that it wasn't he that said the line in your quote, I'm pretty sure it was Yoda from Star Wars. You've managed to bastardize my childhood worse than George Lucas and Rick Berman now, thankyouverymuch.
And what's missing from the analysis is that even though there's no money in *writing* open source, there's plenty to be made in implementing and maintaining open-source based solutions.
See another reply I did. What I meant was getting into it for the money and a hot career backfired on those without the real love for it. I know people working help desk that love the work they do. Those are the geeks. The ones that hate every moment of their waking life are the ones that gambled and lost. Those are the ones I was directing my comment at.
What I meant was that the people that got into it for the money are the ones that are likely the most disappointed with the dot-bom scenario. They went to school to "learn about 'puters" and were the first ones shown the door.
That applies to almost any job if you want to do well. Remember all the faux-geeks that went to school during the dot-com-bomb for the money? Those are the ones now working the help desk in their late 20's/early 30's or doing crap work for a 5 PC shop (assuming they're still working in the geek biz)
just type
Next year they'll introduce "/exercise" and "/weight_watchers".
Thanks! Based on that review I've stopped my torrent download.
Fortunately dupes are not endangered.
Ahhh! Thank you! I would never have guessed that. :)
but then I have a thing against posh totty.
I know that my country (Canada) is part of the Commonwealth and we have a long, happy history together, but could you please convert that to English?
Michael! Good to see you back.
Is the news that slow today?
You and I are both subscribers... looking into the mysterious future, I'd have to say "Yes."
My grandfather died in Auschwitz. He got drunk and fell out of his guard tower.

Make sure you also buy Absorbine Jr. for when your arm gets sore.
But did they start making the nuclear weapons only after Washington started turning hostile?
You don't believe Washington turned hostile in 2001, do you?
IANAL but that sounds like entrapment to me.

Yep, that hit the nail right on the head.

No passion == A Job
Passion == Fun
