We know for a fact and have documented at least two people repeatedly, for over half an hour each day for months on end, trying to access porn and porn-related sites. Yet, like the SEC, none have been canned.
I have found the same thing in my network logs a couple of times. In each case I have messed with our proxy server to point those requests to https://www.pokemon.com/
Same thing right?
Of course I still play Quake.
But I play it on my netbook, at 800x576. The strange thing is I paid less for my netbook than I paid for a video card good enough to play GL Quake back in the day.
I don't do mail in rebates. If the regular retail price is too high then I do not buy. I value my free time very highly ($100 per free hour.) So filling out a rebate form neatly enough for them to read, then going to the store to buy a stamp. (I pay all my bills online.) So if I figure I would spend 1 hour getting the rebate, that rebate would have to be for over $100 for it to be worth my time.
Can you not see the security risk of just not updating the definition files?
If they stopped updating the files that in a few months you might as well not be running and AV software.
They did exactly the right thing, in exactly the right way.
Keep the faith. While times like this are tough all over they do work to drive the IT wankers out of the field. So the true geeks can take over and make IT into the paradise it should be.
Well, I reported a drug dealer running his business out of a house across the street from an elementary school.
They didn't do shit about it. So logically I should start selling drugs to school children to pay for all the copy righted materials I want.
After he got access he should have used Twitter to declare war on Vatican City.

You are right. One of them is in my server room, and a new box that is showing up next week is now NOT getting Solaris on it, but will be getting Debian instead.
I don't have the power to fire anyone. At least torture is fun.

Are you dissing Gilligan?
0. I have trouble believing in intelligent life on Earth.
My thought is usually "How the fuck can they call this food?"
or "Why aren't the truth in advertising people all over this?"
It was done.

But if you grind em up into hamburgers when you are done with them, you can count me in.

At last a political party I can vote for without choking on the hypocrisy.
Maybe I will run for office.
Maybe I will get out and vote.

Talking about evolution or big bangs makes the baby Jesus cry!
Buddy, if you only made $30,000 last year it is well past time to start looking for a new job.
I only made a little over twice that and I am looking.
I was thinking the same thing. But then I Realized that no company in their right mind announces anything on April first.
Thanks so much for explaining that. I am sure that you and I are the only ones on here old enough to remember the olden days.

Win, win!
I told those fudge-packers I liked Michael Bolton's music!
Anyone who does not know that should turn in his/her geek card immediately!
Post a sign. Unsupervised children will be sold, and the profits used to buy more books, DVDs and video games.
Win win!

plug in cartridges == USB
Everything old is new again.
Many many years ago I had a 20MB (Yes, Meg) hard drive that plugged into an ISA slot.
I hate to reply to myself, but those are both Intel boxes.
At the present time I am not even considering Sparc based servers.
