  1. Forgot the most important one on Telling Fact From Fantasy In the World of Apple Rumors · · Score: 2, Insightful
Any rumour about Apple opening up OS/X for use on generic PCs, is ALWAYS false.

Wanting will not make it so. Repeat after me:
    Apple is a hardware company.
    Apple is a hardware company.
    Apple is a hardware company.
    Apple is a hardware company.

Keep repeating until you figure out why they will not sell you OS/X for your white box PC.

True enough, less fear, less whining, and less pain for you.

You are right. I have said since the beginning that they should sell off th OLPC at $250, and use the profits to offset the costs of machines going to third world countries. They could even have gotten rid of the special power supply for the versions sold in North America and Europe. Saved a couple of more $ per unit.

That said, I think we all owe the a debt of gratitude for showing others that there was and still is demand for a small, cheep, low power laptop.

    Too freaking bad.
The iPhone is an apple product and they provide for free a dev kit that will run on other current Apple hardware. Now we have people whining because it doesn't run on Windows, or Linux. If Apple thought it would help their market share or make them a few bucks they would produce the dev kit for other platforms.

If you don't like it you don't have to develop for the iPhone.

For the record, I don't own an iPhone, and do not plan on buying one.
