I find it ridiculicious that in this country we are fighting over mp3's, and if its okay to copy something you purchased. You're damn right I'm going to make a copy of a DVD or mp3 after I purchased it. It's called being smart and learning from lessons in the past. I've lost, had movies destroyed from kids, unmature persons, natural disaster etc. I have a backup of these things, and that makes me happy.

I hope RIAA burns in HELL and goes away ASAP. What a bunch of ignorant old farts that have nothing better to do with there time but to pick on the American population. :(

  5. Re:Talk about choosing between two evils. on Is Comcast Heading the Way of the Dinosaur? · · Score: 0

I've had comcast for years at my parents house. I moved out, I got comcast. I've delt with their shitty cusomter service, slow speeds and techs not willing to do there jobs for years. Comcast and there customer service and support was not as bad as verizons tho.... So comcast prolly has a 1up on them.

    Verizon experience?
I've recently moved into my own place and orderded the 15/2 FIOS package. If the speeds and stability were not in place, I'd look for another ISP hands down.

Verizon has let me down every time I call. I have had some of the worse customer experiance from the FIOS customer service people. I've been lied to, blantly told the wrong info, misguided, as well as a list of other things. Everytime I call it's pretty much the same load of BS.. I always have to talk to a supervisor to get anything done, or answered. There agents seem to be out of the ghetto and not well trained. It seems only the supervisois know what customer service really is.

Currently I'm dealing with verizon trying to double/tripple bill be for a PC/laptop installation fee of $29.99 x 4 for the past 2 billing cycles + other charges. So basically verizon already took out ~$291.00 out of my bank account they were not suppose to as there billing system is also fuked. They cant put it back on my CC, so I have unwillingly prepaid for my fios bill for the next few months. That's fuked!

Verizon didn't do a thing for installation or configuration. I don't even have a verizon router. I'm using my own hardware. I had to call and escalate to a floor supervisor in the tech dept and demand he push the f*cking button so that I can get a DHCP IP from them. After almost 2 hours on the phone and him telling me 'they' can't just push a button.. He pushed that fuking button and I had an IP from them. Why piss off your customers and in the end give them what they want? Ugh!!

I've done customer service, I've been technical support. I know how customer service is suppose to be, and what the extent of an agents job should be. Verizon agents are incompetant while Comcast agents have a little more clue and customer service skills.

Basically you're on the go with your cell and every time you make a call or use your cell on the network it's tracked via the IMEI# from the tower and logged into call logs on the providers network. This is how they track your phone, and which tower you're on and how you use your minutes. Not only is it handy for the provider to see exactly how many minutes you've used on there network, but they can also see from what state, and even down to what area of a city your calling from. Adobe software is slow? What are you running it on? I have the entire CS3 suite, and it does not run slow on my duo core lappy, or my desktop which is an utterly slow P4 2.6Ghz. There is no reason the software should run slow. You should make some performance changes, or try some new hardware. CS3 does require a bit more resources, but its understandable in a suite of tools its size and weight. Just because the software works in a specific way for you, does not mean it runs entirely the same on everyone else's machine. Anyways, Apple does not have the $$ to buy Adobe first and formost. Plus if Apple would buy Adobe, every software would turn to utter sh*t and be loaded with quicktime bloat.

Talking about BB service contracts... About 3 years ago when I lived in vegas I bought a Philip's DVP642 DVD player and a $9 MIC as well. At the time of purchase I was asked if I wanted a service plan from the cashier. I said YES, and choose a 4year service plan. All was well until my DVD player no longer turned on several months ago.

I call BB customer support to get a RMA#. After speaking with a rep for about 45min going over my original receipt, and what I had purchased at the time etc. The rep tells me that I have a service contract for a $9 MIC, and one for my DVD player which was only a year. Why the hell would I buy a service contract for a MIC? So I bought a 4year service contract thinking and being told that the DVD player would be covered for 4 years, now come to find out that a 4 year does not exist, and that I put a $30 service contract on a $9 MIC. So basically I'm outa luck I was told by BB customer care. One of the reasons I never shop at BB anymore.

On a similar note, I could not even pay my FIOS bill with cash. It had to be on a CC as well. WTF kinda a-holes run these companies and make these decisions that are outright ridiculous? Ugh :(
