Most people who jump on the Linux bandwagon begin with Redhat, a good number of these people aren't capable of compiling and installing the system on their own and it's simply juvenile note releasing binary packages for Redhat. Good game showing Redhat who's boss. Let's forget the fact that your denying newbies access to your latest environment and keeping them out of not only new features but bug fixes.
Do not! Do not! Do not take a year off and then go to school, I did the same and it took me between three and four years to gain the motivation to go back to school. The same thing happened to my sibling and everyone else I know. your one year will turn into 5 if your not careful.
Go to school ASAP. A friendly comment from someone who took a year off
This is the natural order of things. The strongest things survive, nature will find a way. HIV isn't killing as many people as it should so nature is developing a new device to thin out the human population.
Is this a surprise to anyone? the console gamers always get the "good games" first. it's always been that way. When the hot gaming pieces of software were FPS with multiplayer and MMORPGS of course it looked like the damn computers were getting all the good games. In the past console didn't have the ability to connect to the internet But now they do.
And the fact that even the poorest kids in America have a console gaming system with a couple of games warrants that companies who produce entertainment software should go after that much larger market.
Look at the inner city where some households bring in a total of 15k a year and have kids. It's still a given that the kid gets a console system.
It could very well be your web hosting company's system administrators not doing their job. It could be some little script kiddie playing bad games on your hosting company. It could even be your ISP that won't let you connect to your host. All of these things have nothing to do with it being Redhat or not.
Why choose Debian over Redhat? does it give you some nifty little feature? Hell yeah. apt-get r0x. Should your hosting company install Debian over Redhat simply because it has apt-get? HELL NO
Well it looks like MMORPGS are about to go the way of the fighting game and the first person shooter. gimmick games suck ass. You know 1on1 fighting games where going the way side when everyone from marvel comics to F`ing sesame Street were duping it out. the same held true with the first person shooters.
Are these peoples bandwidth thieves? Perhaps. But if companies are so angered by the idea of war chalking then maybe they need to spread the world to secure wireless connections. Company needs to secure their connections wireless or otherwise or quit there bitching. plane and simple.
Most consumers will look for days attempting to get the correct piece of hardware for the cheapest possible price. Yet these same people won't even crack open the manual about the default security settings.
So if your not going to get off your dead ass and secure your wireless connection.... suffer

If Redhat needed to make the two desktops look and act alike because of support why not just start work on one official Redhat desktop environment? I mean simply making the two look similar is fine and dandy but there are still different probs between the two completely different desktops.
EPIC is going to release a Linux client for the next version of Unreal Tournament, why should we care? It's pointless to get overjoyed by this semi announcement. I mean it's not officially supported. It only works with NVidia cards and it won't show other companies that people want Linux games.
Linux needs applications that can be purchased directly as Linux apps.
In order for Linux to goto the next level we need UT2003 to be supported and sold in a Linux version. Just being able to download the Linux binaries will not bring Linux to the next level. Software companies don't care how many times epic had the Linux binaries downloaded they care how many copies Linux UT2003 sold in the market And yes I do understand that when Quake3Arena had a Linux version it wasn't all that successful but that had to do with a couple of reasons. Unless companies see that Linux apps and Linux games sell Linux will just be a webserver or hacker toy.
I love using Linux, BSD and the like but just being able to download the binaries gets us no where. id has been releasing the quake binaries for a while as was the first version of UT able to be played on Linux. Being happy that a company is releasing semi working Linux binaries for download it nothing to cheer about, you should be pissed that epic doesn't trust the game enough to release it to Linux.
That's a great little site you have there Mortin, I mean this is the third time you've been so called "slashdotted" again. We know you have the hardware to handle the load because you gloat about it. Yet you refuse to correctly configure your damn server. psst. your not getting slashdotted if you can ssh in without missing a beat or packet.
it's easier to sell businesses and education placces on MACS and WINTEL boxes instead of Linux etc. so if you want unix systems and the fic departments are bitchy about anything not the norm.. then go with osx =]

When I hear the GNU community compiling about Linux it sounds like a scientology lecture.

You know, cell phone users are prob stupid from all the bops on the head they get when in car accidents.

I like gnome better then KDE and I think it's a LOW blow from Redhat to play these games. Microhat needs to stop playing games.
