  8. Doesn't matter if the charge is baseless on NH Man Arrested for Videotaping Police · · Score: 1

The charges will be dropped at some point, especially considering the the ramifications of trying to persue them precedent-wise.

The police are using laws in 'creative' ways to punish this man for giving them a hard time. He has already suffered the indignity of arrest, had to be bailed out of the holding cell, and will need to take time to deal with the stupidity of following through.

This will make others afraid to complain which is the primary reason the man was arrested. The best hope is that it backfires and they actually have to pay a large sum for wrongful arrest or whatever the plaintiff lawyers come up with. Then people will look forward to complaining for the big payout.

    The police were too brazen.

Craig's argument was better presented but, admittedly, I already agreed with him. I'd like to wait and see who tries what and see if it can't be handled when we actually know what it is the owners of the pipes are trying to do, rather than guessing what they might or could do. Laws made don't go generally go away. It's why we have too many laws, most of which are rarely if ever enforced.

We can make a law if we need it in the future.

Bottom line: much less plutonium lying around, smaller yields, cleaner designs, and reduced risk profile. They are not expanding the arsenal, just cleaning it up. Since the US is going to have nukes regardless, I do not have a problem with this.

This is, of course, perfectly logical reasoning. Yet the cabal in Washington has a distinct lack of credibility in the US and around the world. When they say we need new bombs so we can reduce our stockpile... well, I'll believe it when I see it. In the meantime they should be watched as closely as is possible (as little as that may be).
