Perhaps you just went to a shitty high school. When I was in HS less that a decade ago I read Night, To Kill a Mockingbird, Antigone (I guess that's how I know how to spell it correctly), etc... Granted I had to read a lot of crap too, like Things Fall Apart. But nothing quite on the level of Jurrasic Park.
All credit card receipts are supposed to be sent back to your bank
Say what? When you contest a charge the bank will request a copy of the signed slip, but otherwise credit card receipts are *not* sent back to your bank.
"Who measured their shot accuracy? How did they measure it?"
I don't know that this is the case, but I would assume that "Shot-accuracy" means rounds fired vs. rounds that struck people.
But there are problems there too. It doesn't take into account that the people they were shooting at were generally grouped together in relatively conficed spaces. It doesn't seem unlikely that there might have been instances where the shooters were aiming at one person, but missed and hit someone else.
Why is Dr Weir involved with the Atlantis program when she said in this season's 1st episode of SG-1 that she was going to be an ambassador of sorts among all the nations that now know about the Stargate and the various aliens?
That isn't what they said she was going to be doing. At the end, when she told Jack about his promotion, she said she was being sent to head up the international team of scientists going to Antarctica.
Presumably, this is the team that discovers how to and ends up actually going to Atlantis.
I think that Lite-On drives tend to go on sale (at least in brick and mortar) more often than Sonys. When I got mine it was on sale for $20 off (none of that mail-in crap) while the comperable Sony was regular price.
A friend of mine encountered the "No LCD screen" exclusion. My memory of the event is a little fuzzy, but as I recall, the damage she had to her screen (for a PDA) would have been covered under the manufactures warranty. It would have been, if her screen had broken just a week or so earlier. Now if she had just tried to get it repaired under the manufacturer's warranty, there's a good chance that they would have done it. He big mistake as far as I could tell was that by going straight for the extended service plan to get it fixed (they wouldn't) she drew attention to the fact that the original warranty was also not good if only by a couple of days.
Your cousin is lucky then. The reason that I will never buy a service plan is that BB will often simply not honor them. This happened twice (with two different items) to a friend of mine. Both times the item was sent away for what should have been simple repairs. BB straight up refused to replace the items. Both times the items remained in limbo for about four months, only to be returned in their original, unrepaired state. In one case BB declared the item unrepairable, and refused to have enything else to do with it as the service plan had expired during those months. On the second item, BB claimed it was a mixup and invited him to send it away once more. The item was never seen again.
But the thing that really makes these cases so egregious is that my friend was a BB employee at the time. If it's such an ordeal for their own employees, what hope does the average consumer have?
Even if I were to quibble over Lincoln's lack of religious affiliation, it's generally accepted that there were four Unitarian presidents; Fillmore, Taft, and both Adams'.
Why does there need to be a reason other than greed? Banks *love* it when people bounce checks. Those fees are basically free money. They do everything they can to make it so that as many checks as possible bounce. For instance, larger checks clear the account before smaller checks. That way if you run out of money, you bounce several small checks instead of one big one.
For some reason I have not yet identified, talking on the cellphone distracts a person from their immediate surroundings.
People talk on cell phones the same way they talk on land lines. Generally when you talk on a land line the conversation takes priority over what's going on around you. You're either sitting down or maybe walking around your home or office. So you can get away with ignoring something that's distracting you from your call.
Over time people get conditioned to completely zone out when on the phone. Unfortunatly this carries over to cell phones and people can't make the distinction that there are times when a cell phone conversation should definintely not have priority, like when you're driving.
I believe that it's possible to safely use a cell phone while driving, it's just that most people don't know how.
I avoid tracking by just using other peoples' cards. And I don't mean just trading with with a friend either. I have two cards I use regularly. One originally belonged to the ex-girlfriend of a roommate I lived with about 5 years ago. I have absolutely no idea whose name is on the other one. I found it in a parking lot.
The only drawback so far is that I occasionally get a few weird coupons that print out with the receipt. I can live with that.
But who is the terrorist? The person that planted the bugs or the person who *stole* and used the software?
If we had sold or given or in any way encouraged the use of the software, then your point might be valid. Just because an action is objectionable and on a sufficiently large scale does not automatically make it terrorism.
Are you serious? I hardly think 21 calls constitutes a DoS attack. Besides, it seems clear that the attack was not on the 911 system, it was on the individuals who were calling 911, I guess to get them charged with prank-calling 911. At worst I think this guy should be charged with 21 counts of the same crime.
So, at what point exactly does "valid criticism" become "defamation"? I'm just curious...
The Cease and Desist letter from Mastercard will be arriving in your mail shortly.

What is it about being third makes them necessarily not evil? Or not just stupid?
Jennifer Government?

Just because the final product is different doesn't mean that Minute Made[sic] Orange Juice isn't competing with Coca-cola.
I feel compelled to point out that MinuteMaid is a Coca-Cola product.
Have a slide made of transparent material from the viewing window all the way down to the collection box. Simple.
How exactly is that "simple"? Seems like an unnecessarily complex and *expensive* solution to a problem that's basically a nonissue.
Because most Americans just aren't aware of any racing beyond NASCAR. Sad really...
When was ESPN declared the definitive authority on what is or isn't a sport?

Wow. Way to blow it out of proportion.
Wow. Way to completely miss the joke.
I think you'll find that life is a lot less stressful when you develop a sense of humor.

You're only SOL if the person who stole your number got your PIN too. Visa check cards are protected just like a regular credit card.
Strangely enough, it's also the only line where it doesn't cost more than just taking a plane.
