...came on, those guys are the love of the $$$$, not because they like Scifi stuff.
At least they still offer good productions for us to watch. "Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus"
Bring a laptop, turn it on in the middle of the night and run MS Word and wait until the ghost start typing. If the ghost don't like MS software, have OpenOffice.org installed just in case.
If the ghost opens the internet browser and start searching for porn online just get out of the house at once.
Is it my idea or there is a DataCenter building mania for big corporations? thank god that "the cloud" is not much of a hype like the Y2K bug. I'm sure there are lot of studies from consultancy services companies saying that there is a lot of money to dig out on that area.
My advice, be sure to have the customers before building the DataCenter;)
...a Jedi Knight modern remake for the Wii is on my wishlist....with all the optional peripherals on.. wii motion plus, wii speak, Ubisoft cam (?).. etc.etc
Nobody will fall for MS OSS strategy. It is focus to harm MS business partners, and not too touch MS money source.

I remember that good old days...

Windows 95 Turns 15

...yes.. I remember the technical strategy behind Windows 95. Since Windows NT required more hardware let's create a mediocre Windows until hardware gets cheap enough to put NT on every machine. (finally it was accomplished with Windows XP)
Some months ago I made an analysis of a local Microsoft event where they said they love open source.
But their strategy is Upside down. Check my article.

Not free or open source. I think IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager or TADDM (what a name) can help you discover the machines and dependencis you had there.

But i don't know if it will help ou with your example of the UPS. And it will cost you the left nut and half of the other.
"Montgomery looked up at Bauder and told him it was okay. They would communicate via an open cell phone line. He told Bauder to listen to the phone. “‘When you hear the tone, I want you to hit the space bar on the keyboard.’” Bauder, in other words, would be secretly communicating with Montgomery"
Dumb ass... Montgomery should make program to automaticaly press the space key when he hitted his cell phone number. With that he would have a witnessa against him.
You are forced if you are a developer. I was not talking from the user side. If you want to improve any GNU GPL software you are forced to be free, and also free the source code.
In FreeBSD licence not.
The doubt that I always had is:
It is good to force you to be free? (GNU GPL)?
or is it better to have the freedom to decide to be free or not ?(FreeBSD)?
If you change the word "BitCoin" for "Cash" in the article it gives you almost the same result.
Since it is Open Source it just can't die like happened with IBM HotMedia.
USA !! Fix the Patent System.. don't you geek are in charge there? ; )

The playboy article is way better to read the full story, if you got time.. http://www.playboy.com/articles/the-man-who-conned-the-pentagon-dennis-montgomery/
You should say to your boss something like "'Say Hello to my little Friend!!!" RA TA TA TA TA!!
sure, but nobody wants to list the top 10 business men that turned homeless because of the internet.

That presentation was done by an MS employee on late April of 2010. So they still think they OSS strategy is that way.
