    Nope! you're not missing a thing!

    It's just the Americans are not used to forcing their Mobile Telcos to provide them with good "value for service".

    If a lot of people go "Sim Free" then the Telcos' will have to adapt, since more of their users are not handcuffed to their service and can move at any time...

    Which is a GOOD thing, as it promotes competition. In the end, you are getting a better service...

    The way I read the origional article, (not the Slashdot hackjob!) is that Blue Destiney Records (BDR) is suing Google and Microsoft NOT because if the links, but for the fact that Microsoft and Google profit from the filesharing activities through the ads placed on Rapidshares free pages.

    I'm on Ubuntu_64 9:10 (on a celeron CPU) & I use Greasemonkey on firefox with the "Youtube Without Flash" Auto and embedded scripts...

    Flash works fine for me for most stuff. I just use the scripts for video... ^__^

    The Record labels DON'T have rights to sell the track (their rights to sell ran out years ago!)

    The Blog post said:

    So the music label is basically stealing Edwins work and not paying him.

    ...Have you thought of Amazons POD (Print on Demand) service? Think for a basic book, all you need is 2 pdf's

    1) The book itself

    2) A front / spine/ Back images for the cover.

    You upload it to Amazons servers and set a price (Think Amazon charges a fee for inital setup).

    Then list it on Amazon and they are printed as required.

    5) Profit off of all those banking details....

    ...have a Ubuntu Live-CD loaded up with the diagnostic tools a need to hand. So when I get a Laptop, I boot it from the CD so that pesky Monitoring software that tuns the camera on and loads a key / screen logger does not start.

    I then make an image of the hard drive then wipe it saying "sorry i found a key logger and rootkit spyware on the laptop so I had to wipe it..." It's up to the customer to make sure they have a backup...

    I can then browse the image at my leisure, on machine not connected to any network..

    Then I offer to recover their data from the hard drive for £200 and come back in the morning...(I just take the copy form the image i made earlier) easy money! ^__^
