It's just the Americans are not used to forcing their Mobile Telcos to provide them with good "value for service".
If a lot of people go "Sim Free" then the Telcos' will have to adapt, since more of their users are not handcuffed to their service and can move at any time...
Which is a GOOD thing, as it promotes competition. In the end, you are getting a better service...
The way I read the origional article, (not the Slashdot hackjob!) is that Blue Destiney Records (BDR) is suing Google and Microsoft NOT because if the links, but for the fact that Microsoft and Google profit from the filesharing activities through the ads placed on Rapidshares free pages.
The Record labels DON'T have rights to sell the track (their rights to sell ran out years ago!)
The Blog post said:
A Girl Like You is available FOR SALE all over the internet. Not by Edwyn, by all sorts of respectable major labels whose licence to sell it ran out years ago and who do not account to him.
So the music label is basically stealing Edwins work and not paying him.
...have a Ubuntu Live-CD loaded up with the diagnostic tools a need to hand. So when I get a Laptop, I boot it from the CD so that pesky Monitoring software that tuns the camera on and loads a key / screen logger does not start.
I then make an image of the hard drive then wipe it saying "sorry i found a key logger and rootkit spyware on the laptop so I had to wipe it..." It's up to the customer to make sure they have a backup...
I can then browse the image at my leisure, on machine not connected to any network..
Then I offer to recover their data from the hard drive for £200 and come back in the morning...(I just take the copy form the image i made earlier) easy money! ^__^
it may be the coolest but 6.6.6.69 is the weird one...
6.6.6.69.in-addr.arpa. ns03.army.mil.
DOMAIN-REQUEST.AIMS7.army.mil.
Yes! The US army is 69'ing the Devil! ^_^

Doesn't Windows Mobile (WinCE) run on ARM?
I can see Microsoft slappin' the "Microsoft TAX" on these ARM netbooks by sticking their Mobile OS on it, with a few tweeks... >_<

Hm... didn't they do something like that on "Sanctuary" a couple of weeks ago!...
Oh sorry, that was a 3d Holographic projection of a crime scene not a 3D model on a screen...
Ah well we can all dream....
Well that's not that hard to imagine, since silicone implants have been controlling men's minds since the early 60's...
..."The 10 commandments" Remastered Special Edition.
It's the 2 (Synthetic) Stone DVD Version...
I'm on Ubuntu_64 9:10 (on a celeron CPU) & I use Greasemonkey on firefox with the "Youtube Without Flash" Auto and embedded scripts...
Flash works fine for me for most stuff. I just use the scripts for video... ^__^
This sort of stuff would go down well there...
(evidence of possible vote tampering and all that jazz)
The Blog post was written by his Manager (and Wife) so it's safe to say she knew what she was talking about.

Might this deal be a dipping of the toe for MS and Nokia?
Will they collaborate to produce a Symbian based phone for Windows xBox mobile gaming?
Might MS tie into Nokia's NGage platform...
Might an unholy alliance between MS and Nokia topple the Jesus phone?
Are those orders canceled since the product no longer exists, or will they get the Full (non-upgrade) Win7 version instead?
1) A bit of code hacking to put the Keylogger + a simple method to send keystrokes to a 3rd party into a firmware update for the keyboard.
2) Start a "Man in the middle" attack between a Mac user and Mac update servers.
3) User installs update..
