    This is a good thing. People can choose what they want. If you want a Google device ... there are lots, with hardly any differentiation. Most have one feature that differentiates them.

    I am happy with my Xoom and my nook touch, but I hope this device goes very well, even at the expense of my Xoom. Pressure to make em all innovate I say

    Even better than that, the real sweet spot is actually about $250 -$300 given that is the ebay going price. So people are willing to pay $300 for a discontinued peace of hardware. I think Amazon has hit it right on.

    I wonder what it will do to the market. It might hurt other Android tablets, but I doubt it will put too much pressure on iPad for a while.

    In the last 100 years crop yields have dramatical increased. If we had used your argument at any time in the last 100 years, we would have massive famine in a decade.

    How about 71.342 degrees C ... although it is pointless

    if the mall could put solar panels at a profit, it would, it's not stupid. The reason it does not is that it is not profitable unless you are a greenie and numbers don't matter

    It seems that they are raising the boil temperature slowly so we cant tell.

    In the one blurb we have "think of the childred", catch "criminals and political activists" (the two belonging to the same category) and also "make money".

    What we provide is our photos with our GPS and our timing location where we took them as well as the subject being our choice!!

    One additional element to the story is that extracting "rare earths" generally means you extract Thorium. One rare earth mine would extract enough Thorium to power the world (if we could get Gen IV happening)

    The problem is that what is left is considered radioactive leftovers that you cant put back in the ground, even if the ground is more radioactive than what you pulled out.

    China does not have the same problem, they have been storing the stuff, and who knows .. they might have started a Thorium program.

    Well for the populous Geeks are a form of Nerd which was typified by movies like Revenge of the nerds.
    They never where like that though. Geeks are in fact more social, live more interesting lives do extreme sports and all of the above.
    The "Jocks" or whatever you call them that do the cheer leaders in the end don't amount to much more than stuffing shopping bags for a living and following sport teams and committing to a single brand car as if that shows manliness.

    I guess slowly in the very connected world Geeks also are better value from early on as well. Being different and not going with the flow is a positive quality now,

    We are about to enacta law that enforces Tabacco companies to sell in non descript plain paper packets that look all the same except for the brand name in the same font and the warnings. I would argue take the warnings away as well :-)

    They are coming all over the world to fight it but it is looking good to go through, and this revelation should take some steam out of their lobby.

    The problem is that we have no case where we can see the after affect.
    Polution will go up as well as other abuses to the environment.

    It is sort of like the intelegent design group. They extrapolate with their logic utter junk.
    If they had their way in a school for about 10 years, in the end children are smart enough to figure out that it is all junk,
    and we would have a precedent.

    The current two sizes are identical in wiring.

    If Apple can force a new format, they can implement new features, maybe good (ie flash memory, multiple sims in one) or bad ... DRM and I don't know what else
