    Someone who exercises 1,000-1,200 Calories(that's a big C so we're talking 1.0-1.2 million one ml by one degree calories or 20 litres by 50 degrees) makes plenty of heat for a nice hot shower. For me this is about an hour on the stair climber or an hour and a half in the pool. As far as output to the machine it's only 2-250 Watt-hour but the heat energy is all there. Aside from getting ones exercise by swimming, I don't know of a good way to capture all that heat.

    I had to return a Fujitsu laptop because it would not work in my natural climate workshop in Georgia. On days over 96 degrees and 70% humdity, it would overheat and shut down. Replaced it with the P2120 transmeta based which is small and light and it was OK to 100 degrees with high humidity. In summer my workshop gets up to 108 some afternoons.

    Let us know what you end up with and how it works. Spouse and I are doing a 12 month trip, Pacific, Asia, India, trans siberian, ??? in 2010 and info will help us choose notebook.

    God damn wheel will never work. Look at the math. It's got an irrational ratio for crying out loud.

    Define 'eco-friendly'.

    Supersonic ram jets worked back in the mid 80's they weren't very refined and the flame holder was extremely sensitive but they worked.

    the subscriber base varies around the maximum profit point in a 'broadcast' model internet. As the internet becomes more and more like interactive(text your opinion to 88993) TeeVee the audiences will converge.

    I strongly suspect that if you added TeeVee time to internet time you'd find that most people subscribing to both are spending a smaller sum than they did a few years ago. I know I've lost a lot of interest in the internet as the diversity of small hobby websites has decreased. No number of teenage angst publications on facebook can add up to one good hobby site devoted to a particular model of motorcycle or outboard motor.
