So why worry? If you keep the build you have right now I doubt it'll be incompatible with torrents any time soon. What I have right now does the job fine, and I don't really need any new features.
This said though, it could be a boost for the launch. So may people (ok, geeks) will run an OS on their machine purely because they're not supposed to be able to do it. Once they get the geeks, maybe they'll release a public version?
Not my actual beliefs, but still it could be true...
And if you're a BT Internet customer you can use it for free - just download the client and use your BT account information.
I find it works really well. The best feature is being able to adjust the compression yourself, so can basically choose to receive higher or lower quality images.
It's the final book where everything is wrapped up, maybe not to your liking. I enjoyed it though. I won't type a blurb in case you just don't want to know anything, but descriptions are Out There. Not that there aren't enough spoilers in this thread for people who haven't read any of the books...
It was a play, and in general I'd say it's far easier to port a play to the silver-screen than it is to port a book. tHGttG was turned into a book with the leopard joke intact - if it can survive play-to-book, then why not play-to-screen?
Which brings up another interesting point. Does anyone know how the movie script was written? As in was the original radio script used as a reference, just the book or both?
I can see this being a Good Thing, and 1% over 1000 cycles doesn't seem too bad. If it only takes 1 minute to quickcharge though, doesn't that mean that people will be charging more?
I had the same thing when I first logged in. I tend to keep all mail that's useful in a folder called "Reference" and delete the rest, and was confused when I realised that Gmail wouldn't let you make folders.
A good way to do things is not change for your old system - use a label in place of where you would use a folder before. You could have a "Work", "Family" and "Friends" label and either apply them to mails manually or set up a filter, just like with the folders where you manually dropped them in or set a filter up.
Th advantage is that you can apply multiple labels to a mail. You're best friend also works with you and wants to organise a night out with some people from work and more of your friends? Label it "Work" and "Friends". Using the folder system you could only have put it in one folder, unless you made a copy and put it in both.
"eXeem is a brand new Peer-To-Peer program, which is based on the BitTorrent idea. eXeem eliminates the need for trackers as nodes in the program will be taking their role. eXeem also features easy publication of files to the network as well as a rating and comments system. eXeem contains NO SPYWARE. eXeem is free and is ad-supported eXeem is currently still in its beta testing phase, which means that the network might not be completely stable yet. You are still very welcome to give eXeem a try and see how it is different from other Peer-To-Peer programs."
So it claims not to use Spyware, and yet admits in the FAQ that it uses Cydoor. I'm confused:-/

Point taken, but it's a little different. Once you've applied a theme you can keep it. You can customise the appearence of things and they never have to be updated, if you're happy you can stay happy. With security patches you play the game at the mercy of the people writing them. New vulnerabilities can be found.

Isn't this what themes are for though? I know you're probably talking about the default theme, but that's the whole point - if you don't like it, change it. Isn't that what Linux is about now?
And who says Linux=KDE anyway, just don't use it if you don't like it.
Doesn't that just mean to pass freely over the British border though? It's a statement to say you can be let out of the country and let back in again, not to demand entrance to the US.
You're being serious? Did your GIMP installation look anything like this? Hint: The toolbox is the main active window, highlighted with dark green on the titlebar. I've been using Photoshop for a while, but I feel that the GIMP functions superbly as a graphics app, and follows general standards...
The idea may work, but I'm not in favour. I like email, I like that it's free, and it means I rarely have to use snail mail / faxes.
One thing though - if Microsoft or Yahoo are approached by a company offering to pay for a bulk... er..., promotional mail sending spree, will they accept? I mean, if they are in it for the money like some of the posts on this topic suggest then maybe they can work in a reduced rate for known (high paying businesses) spammers?
Lexmark chose to do things simlar to the old Gillete/Kodak methods: By practically giving away razors/cameras you can make more money on highly priced blades/films.
It works well, so long as there's no-one doing things cheaper than you. Lexmark sells fairly cheap printers (free in fact, if you go to freecolourprinters.co.uk, but their consumables are more pricey than most other companies. Just gotta find the right balance...

Or iPenis if they did switch to Macs.
Hmmm, can Apple sue over a translucent dildo?
Because everyone knows that the Ancient Egyptians didn't know how wheels worked...
You mean like typing "dir /b > list.txt" into a command prompt and opening list.txt in Word?

Could that be because "alady" isn't Hebrew?
I can imagine it now.
Mandriva? Man driva? Woman can drive just as well as men! Sexist company, I'll not be using their distro!
...and that'll be exactly the kind of thing that would kill Gmail.
2GB is quite a bit considering they don't charge. I'm paying £17.99 GBP per month with my ISP, and they only give me 1GB.
I'm hoping you were joking. Please don't ruin it for the rest of us...

No-one uses it? Tell that to the 2,742,680 people sharing 914,064,273 files on there riiight now...
Compensation is usually given out for exactly that - to compensate financially. Has PearPC actually lost money over this?
Not that I agree with code theft, but it seems it's more of a moral issue.
It explains all in the link - the Google white background is...err... maybe you should just read it ;-)

I don't agree with the assholes bit, but it is true that many a DoS attack is in reality just a slashdotted site ;-)
