"This is a strange twist for a company which last year set up a video-sharing site called Miivi in an attempt to entrap users uploading copyrighted content, and was caught launching a DoS attack against Revision3, which we discussed earlier this year."
How is setting up another scam service considered a "strange twist"?
It isn't a strange twist for them to be setting up a legit company for legit paid-for content either.
Infact, the only "strange twist" that could occur is if they went against their primary motive of chasing cash from their activities in p2p - and suddenly decided to support piracy in earnest.
Wayyy over the top. During (and still) the Olympics, the level of removal of Olympic content of video sites was astronomical. It is still basically impossible to find highlights of Olympic events on youtube or anything like that*, despite the fact that the content was delivered to us completely free and really isn't marketed for post-event dvd purchasing.
(There was a knockout in the boxing that was particularly amusing - lots of people talking about it, nobody with any links).
Finally! I've been waging war over 6 (and above) word titles for quite some time now! Infact, I've done some preliminary research on up to 4 word reduction also.
Unfortunately, I got rather a snotty marketing letter back when I sent Pete Jackson my plans to rename his opus to (Lord). These Hollywood hacks threaten our very existence with their redundancy.
I'm not one of those people who say "go buy a real guitar" but I have to say, when you're at the point where you're midi sequencing stuff to play in guitar hero, you're also at the point where you're ready to start looking into making your own music. Particularly when you're restricted from emulating copyrighted songs.
It's just not a drawcard. I doubt many people think too much about its concept when purchasing the game. They buy the game on the virtues of the actual title.
It's a shame that so few of us are really able to accept the idea of having "betters" in an MMO. Personally, I always felt the most exciting moments of WoW were when I was a lower level character being victimised. Sure, it probably riled me, but as the levels progressed and the skill/win bandwidth between players narrowed, the game became far less emotionally interesting.
IANAL but it seems to me that these caps are not because of P2P but put in place because of competition for the television audience. By capping the users Comcast seems to be trying to guarantee that their cable service is still viable.
It isn't that what you are saying isn't plausible - but it's blatantly obvious that these caps only effect those who are high volume, low profit (actually, probably "loss" customers). It is sound business practice to remove these people or place restrictions. These people are subsidized by the low volume users.
Residing in a completely capped land (Aus) and having been labelled "a heavy user" (which, for the record is on a scale where about an eight of that cap makes you a heavy user) I have experienced a decent amount of this practice.
The only questionable issue I would raise with this service is that they are purposely leaving the user in the dark to their quota status? Go over and get warned? That to me is even better evidence of what they are trying to do. Remove people. If they were interested in capping you and keeping your business they would inform / throttle you.
.. Would be to give him the.org and they take the.com
Whilst it is true that.org *should* go to the organisation I think a.org that is a forum for discussion on the bid is actually quite in line with what you often get on a.org.
(I realise some will say he doesn't deserve to lose the.com atall and I am in agreement with you, however, I think we all know that he's going to get the shaft and I'm just pointing out a genuine solution whereby he gets to keep a legit domain for his forum).
What with, you know, most of the world's population thinking that day was the critical "black-hole" day.
Whilst I'm sure that is beneficial for CERN in the context that most people will be completely unaware on the day that full speed collisions are truly started, I do not for one moment think the media had that intention. A publicised failure would only serve to increase people's prejudice.
Yeah, I agree. Atleast, I enjoyed the second one. Not as an ad though.. more as an interesting short. I can't really fathom how the intention could be anything more than that given the way they were made/scripted.
EA says they will have staff standing by to grant more installations as necessary on a case by case basis. So, while this still isn't optimal, at least we are getting a compromise.
This is like a rapist saying that instead of anally violating you, he'll settle for oral. It's a shitty compromise.

Well.. I guess you'll just have to sink your teeth into a solution to this situation and see if that helps things;-)
There's a linked video showing the xbox360 and the ps3 version side by side. Both of those videos have chunky aliasing like they plugged each box into a DVR and recorded at 800x600 or something... Maybe 720P, looks that bad.
The whole video is pixelated, including the logo that it starts with. So safe to assume that it is the encoding.
I'm getting amped up, just thinking about this..

I love the console but come on.. an xbox can put out 720p. A decent sized television makes the wii look very average.

Ackbar was sayin' it a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

Steps to Fame:
1. Get into game development position
2. Inject Goatse timebomb
3. PROFIT!
4. NO WAIT!. NO PROFIT.
5. SOME FAME
but hey, now you can slip a Mac into a lab coat pocket!
You're living in the past. Modern day lab coats can handle atleast 2 big macs, no problems (no void of warranty, either).
(The experiments conducted to verify these results were done for purely academic purposes, of course).
If this update made it accessible to the deaf.
*ducks*
Fucking kids. Graffito-tagging anything. Who tagged it? Jesus.. I'm looking at you.
Sorry Guys, I accidentally typed w3c.org when what I what I mean to type was littleboylove.org..

Right up there with world's tallest building. Even for a geek this list holds very little interest.
Suddenly, the predicted "end of the universe" models look a little dusty.
