runescape is a bad example; trades where shackled, prices where set up by jagex with no way around them. Of course that will make your customers run away! an MMORPG is nothing if the MM part is replaced with npc's! It's basically an RPG with chat system now.
hopefully this will lead to more modern-looking open-source games. That's the reason the regular gamer won't play open-source. Unless there's somethign else i nthe game you can't find anywhere else:P.
actually, just look at all the home users/gamers.
vista requires a much heavier pc, and for gamers it takes away much more resources then vista. The logical answer is the past version, wich happens to be xp.
If windows 7 has a version that doesn't waste many resources, or even just an option that isn't too hard to find, then it'll be the successor of windows xp for those people.
the ai in fear 1 is VERY good, and so is the AI in the unreal tournament series. At least up to version 3, as i then noticed enemies spawning with full shields:/
or perhaps the mod community will want to make it a good game and do epic's work...
the engine is there, and it can all be used. If people really want this to be good, it WILL be good.
but everyone just forgets UT3 and goes back to ut 2k4 where everythign is already perfect, save for graphics:).
some games are worth it, but i hardly ever buy anything off steam. reason? 50 dollars is worth 50 euros to them, and that on top of the fact that most games only get their first price lowerign after 2 years or so.
the office 2007 menu is NOT a good thing. sure, the new users have it a lot easier. All the other users have a hard time adapting and feel like their money was stolen, as they hardly know how to use the new blinky interface.
I'm 16, and even I (!) have trouble adapting, since i'lm used to the traditional menus in EVERY program i come across. What people did microsoft aim at? 12 years old?
It's a bad thing to replace something that everyone knows with something you basically have to re-learn the whole program.
halo is a rather poor example... you are the sole character seeking to save your race. It has a pretty good story; kind of farfetched, but not too much.
Isn't this all dependant on your personal tastes?
If you liek FPS games, doom and quake will undoubtly rank at the top... if you like RPG games, final fantasy will be on top.
This all is quite ridicilous, as there is no huge-scale survey.
i think it just isn't worth it. The games/consoels are always harder to control, the console costs a lot compared to what it can do, and the games, even tough as expensive as the best console/pc games, are usually very small.
No thanks, i'll get a game for my pc rather then having a game that i can play anywhere, but that i'll get tired of within the hour.
My point is that the mechanics *should* be simple. When they're complex, you end up with EVE; and I think there's a general consensus that EVE is impossible for outsiders to comprehend enough to appreciate, let alone play for themselves. I've tried playing it, and my experience is that the game is completely inaccessible to those with anything but a dedicated interest in playing EVE. My guess would be that most EVE players are probably close friends with other EVE players, or they would never have been able to overcome the learning curve (or lack thereof) in the first place

Actually, the tutorial may be unhelpfull, but there's plenty of helpfull people around. Once the tutorial tells you how to join a channel, just join "help". alternatively, rookie help is open by default. there's also lots of fansites full of help.
THAT is how i learnt to play a few months ago.
Well, i guess they just cut off the 2 damaged parts, put a decent ender on it (like utp cables have a clip) and just put in another piece with 2 enders on them, and they put them together.
The only problem is that that cable was never meant to be like that, and thus the protective layer around it is hard to break... at least when they try to repair it:D
It sits on a desk. It is a lousy multi-player device.
wha? do you even look at the pc games taht are around? Hell, even old games like unreal tournament (1998/1999?) still has a LOT of servers. Look at halo PC: about 400 servers at all times.
I wouldn't call that lousy multi-player.
The funny thing is that consoles are actually workign the same as pc's, just with slightly different hardware and other software. If sony and microsoft hadn't closed down their boxes with huge encryption, then we'd have been playing ps3 and xbox games ON the pc, about 5 hours after they where released.
an rts, THE game to be played on a pc, is NOT going to get a pc port. usually it's not getting a console port - simply because it sucks to control the game with a controller.
because i like to play games and Do this a lot in my spare time?
I often play games for a long time, but even so i still eat normally, drink normally, sleep normally.
Gaming is one world. earth is another.
No matter what you do, earth remains your primary world, since you can quit games withotu dieing, but not the other way around.
You just have to be able to slow down when you notice it gets too much.
Also, i think games aren't nearly as addictive as people think. Games get repetitive, thus they get boring. The people who stay playing such a game are just trying to not waste the time they spent on it... and this ironically ends up with them spending even more time on it. An endless cycle, unless they can snap out of it.

so true. EVE doesn't have the biggest game space without reason :P.

just what we needed :/
as if the summary wasn't clear enough this technology already exists: it's called a wii

You're right, altough i doubt a user would make 65 terrabite available ;)
...since filesharing is semi-decentralised. None of the files are actually on anyone's servers; the users have them.

why did you just link to a site containing a worm?

coming soon: the wii-360, because microsoft can't stand nintendo havign a market share!

Gamers' outrage over the DRM controversy built up a great deal of steam over the past year - Is it just me or was that put in for a purpouse?

the title says AMD lasts longer, and the article says Nvidia does. Make up your minds!
